if you want to weld sheet metal gauge up to maybee 1/4 with some work, or 3/8 with alot of work.. you could get by.

I think I'd get a arc welder from a yard sale.. soemthing that did like 225a like a tombstone and just turn it down.. and then know you have a full penetration weld, and not somthing that looke dlike a chicken with an intestinal infection..

just saying.

I've looked at small flux welders frequently.. and so far have not been impressed enough to buy.. and let me say.. I am not afraid of a chinese tool.. have plenty of them.. but don't have a cheap flux welder yet.

do have an older CH stik welder in the 30/70a range.. uses 1/16 and 5/64 rods.

works for sheet metal.. anything else and I use a bigger ac buzzbox..
