Thanks, these guys act as if I insulted one of their family members.

Face the facts guys, THE LITTLE JOHN DEERE OUT PULLED THE BIGGER KUBOTA. If that makes you sad or hurts your tractor's feelings, so be it. Just telling it as it is.

Seriously it is a great story and a good one to tell  - even if unfortunately your OP did read a bit like an advert for JD!

I think it's not helped by the fact that the phase John Deere hyperlinks you to a dealer website....! (I'm guessing it happens automatically - I'll find out in a second once I've hit "post")

UPDATE: why didn't my use of the term John Deere automatically hyperlink then??? Maybe Carl was trolling after all???

Yeah I see what you're saying about the JD link. I didn't purposely add that, it did it on its own, but why didn't it happen on yours. Maybe because mine were all upper case? Lets see, JOHN DEERE and John Deere

Second, how were you towing with the Kubota? Was the backhoe on the B26 or did you have the 3pt arms with some kind of a rear hitch? It makes a HUGE difference on my L35, whether or not the hoe is on. Wet grass can cause my wheels to spin if I am trying to pull something with the rear receiver. Having only the FEL on causes a huge weight bias to the front axle and tires. No 18' trailer is going to make up for almost the 1K pounds of "tongue" weight, I am giving up with the hoe off.

I think you're onto something here. If the loader was on the Kubota and the backhoe was off, then the rear of the Kubota was unballasted. No wonder you lost traction. The trailer has maybe 100-200 lbs tongue weight--nothing, really. Meanwhile, the loader is hanging out the front of the tractor being a counterweight. This is not a question of, "the littler JD out-pulled the bigger Kubota". This is a matter of, "An un-ballasted tractor doesn't pull very well."

Are the tires on the Kubota loaded, I wonder? Was the backhoe on? Let's get to the bottom of this!

Carl, I notice that your JD wears the equivalence of off road knobbies. Does this mean your mower would be useless around your property if it still had standard turfs?

"OUT PULLED", hardly. Out tractioned, yes.

Please, your tale of your JD's bravado is one of the more egregious apples to oranges comparisons I have read or heard of in some time.

Thanks for the comedy moment of the day.

I don't feel touchy, let me check a minute...not not touchy at all.

Wait! Better check again. It might come and go...:D
Triple R, you are one of the most informative and helpful posters on this forum from my observation,
and if your nose smells an odor, well, there's likely a good reason.

The problem is cheerleading for any brand or bashing another without good reasons given
really gets a reaction here. Probably for good reason. Sort of like watching a documentary and getting stuck
listening to car commercials every ten minutes.

When it comes to traction, isn't it weight, tire grip/type and 2wd/4wd?
I bet if you put ag tires on Carl's TLB you could climb a tree.
