SmartJet Deck Wash

I'm sure some of these CC dealers on TBN could tell you better... but I would imagine it is a waterhose connection on the deck. I've seen some other brands that have the same. You hook up the waterhose and engage the blade a few minutes to clean the underside. I think you are supposed to run the deck engaged for about 10 minutes afterwards to dry it up.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong!

Thanks Ron, sure does make sense to me. Im about to buy a new CC and can't deceide between the 04 and the 05 model. The 05 model has a cast iron trans, cut on reverse and the jet wash deck. There are still 04 units available in my area and Im tring to justify the cost difference. I like the idea of being able to wash the underside deck with water but don't know how important the cast iron trans vs aluminium trans is. Any thoughts on this?

Which models are you looking at?

The '04 2500 and up have the big cast tranny. I understand that some of the less expensive ones will have the same in '05. The mowing in reverse feature is an easy fix for the '04s to let you do the same. The deck wash system is a good thing... but unless you are mowing wet grass a lot you probably could still keep the deck on the '04s clean. And from what I've seen they are pretty easy to remove if you needed to do some serious cleaning!

If you can get a good price on an '04... I wouldn't hesitate! Another thing to keep in mind is that the '05s have all Kohler engines except the ones sold at Lowes. I myself had considered buying a GT2521 which I think is a great buy. It has the B&S Vangaurd engine in it... which I'm a little partial to.

A lot of it might depend on what models you are looking at and what you plan to do with it. Either way.. I think you'll be happy.

I can't say that I'm familiar with that model. I think they very around the country (or atleast the model numbers) because I've seen others mention models that are not available in southeast Texas. A GT is a good way to go. Bigger tires, thicker deck, etc. What engine does it have?
