You may live on/near a military training route (IR or VR) which would explain the low flying aircraft.

That is what one of customers said it is. He said he flew up threw where I live in the 50's or 60's.

My neighbor said the fighter jet that flew over was an A-10 Warthog.

They were out again today. It looked like he was flying a grid.

Probably not as exciting as military planes flying overhead, but this is what I took today:

This is the spot for our new home. It's finally underway! :cool2:

Thanks, they fly over low here all the time practicing flying under radar. I guess they are out of Martinsburg, WV. Here is another picture from about 2 years ago, I may have posted it in this thread.

Sometimes a bunch of C-130's will fly over real low. I think they are searching for marijuana and moonshine stills. About 3-4 months ago some kind of fighter jet fly over really low. A few weeks ago 3 helicopter flew over, I got a video of 2 of them.

Martinsburg Air National Guards has C-17s so that would be correct. Previously they had C-5s and I think before that C-141s or C-130s.

Dont have a picture, but at a house I was renovating in a rural area, there were regularly F-16's and A-10's flying overhead doing some pretty aggressive low altitude flying. One day, a couple of F-16's that looked like they were doing a mock dogfight flew so close, banking, you could see the pilot and color of his chest patches.. Was way cool. And I grew up around Air Force bases :)

Back when I was farming, and before the wars took away most of the fuel for practice, the jets would dog fight over my farm all the time. They would even use me and the tractor to pretend strafe. I still see them once in a while, but not as much as before.

You are out there close to Eglin and the test range. Did you ever have a problem with your garage door opening and closing while they were around?
There is a suburb just outside the Eglin test range and apparently during its construction the contractors were warned not to use a certain type of radio controlled garage door system due to conflicts with targeting sensors used by USAF aircraft. After the people moved in they started noticing their garage doors opening and closing all by themselves. Someone tracked it down to the sensor issue and the people of the suburb sued the USAF. A diligent Frequency Spectrum Manager produced the paperwork that showed they had warned the contractors not to use those garage door openers. Lawsuit over.

No problem with the garage door, since I don't have one. I park under the pole barn. We are close to Eglin, but a friend of mine who is a Col in the National Guard told me most of the planes we saw were out of Texas. We are right on their route. These days we hear a lot of helicopters in the river swamps at night. Calhoun County has a JSTRIC training center for spooks, Snake Eaters, SWAT teams and other special Forces kind of folks. They are just over a mile from the Larro Ranchero, as the crow flies. JSTRIC HOME
