SMARTPHONE: Poor battery and even poorer SPRINT customer service

Just an update:

Things aren't looking good. I am waiting on one final call from sprint today.

I currently have an overdue bill for $321 that I won't be paying unless they resolve this issue. It looks like I may be a Verizon customer before long. I like the specs and good reviews of the droid RAZR.

Just bite the bullet and get an iPhone. You pay more, you get more.

And, customer satisfaction is way up there...

My ex has a 4S when we were both on AT&T. The battery life was no better and I found I liked the Android OS better. I really didn't like Apple though. They refuse to use a standard USB connector. They refuse to make the battery removable. And they have a nasty habit of locking you into their services. The real decider was that I wanted to future proof myself when 4g service came as I'm not the type to replace phones unless it's needed. My advice would be to look at every brand before you decide.

I ordered the droid RAZR HD. Lots of good reviews.

The nexus is all terrible. I read many other forums on that phone. It is just a crappy device when on sprint. Only way most of those guys are getting okay battery is flashing new kernals, going to older versions of android, and rooting the device.
For every one occurance I find that an app helps, there is one more that says it made things worse.

when the phone claims a 7.5h battery, I at least expect to get close. And that should be the way it is out of the box. I shouldn't have to do a hundred different things just to get acceptable battery.

I hope the change of service provider and phone makes all the difference for you. I'd try a Razer if I could afford to switch. My sons have had good luck with them on Verizon, and I've had real good luck with Motorola in the past. Good luck!

Yea, I have heard lots of good about the RAZR. They seem to be well known for their battery life. And at least I will have 4g with Verizon at work.

I couldn't believe that sprint didn't and I work in Columbus Ohio. Which isn't exact ally a small city.

It's too bad that these companies have so little talent working for them that they can't get this stuff right. It almost seams like they just put it out there and assume that all the equipment will work. When it doesn't you are at the mercy of someone who has a simple check list in front of them, just ask a question and then move to the next question.

Three times "advanced" level techs at Verizon have promised to call me back after a few days. Not one did.
