Snake Guards (leggins)

We have a few snakes in South Texas. I have a pair of Chippewa snake boots that I wear in the brush. They run about $300 and they're hot as a monkey's butt in the summer time but if I ever need them, they'll seem cheap and comfortable.

I'd never go into the woods without snake boots on. Bass bro has nice zip up ones that come on and off really easily.

Here in south GA the rattlesnake Roundup is about to begin I think this weekend. If you want to see thousands of them and have fun make sure to attend.

Kevlar won't protect from puncture. That's one reason bullet vests have plates in them. It stops knives.

If you can stick a needle through it it won't protect you.

My grandpa was fishing with a friend and his friend got snake bit by a water moccasin. Grandpa said we better go but his friend waited for a while. He knew he was going to be sick for a for days and he wanted to fish while he could. He just put a big wad of half chewed tobacco on it. 3 or 4 days later he called and wanted to go fishing, never even thought of going to the Dr. Those old guys were tough as nails. Ed

I went with snake boots. We have about 6 people a year in the county get bit by copperheads. Two of my cousins were amoung the bit. Snake boots are cheap compared to the swelling pain and the expense of the the ER.

txdon, What a bunch of wimp snakes!! Oz snakes would eat them all for breakfast. They took an awful lot of rousing before they would strike. Those Chippewa boots at $300 according to STx are a real con trick. A lifetime's supply of Wellies would more than pay for one pair of those things. After having seen the video I would reckon you would just need a pair of Ozzie thongs in the USofA. No disrespect to the people, but the snakes are not interested in biting.

I thought the same thing about those snakes, wimpy. They act nothing like our Timber Rattlers or our Copperheads. I don't think I paid $300 maybe $199 - less than an Ambo ride. I was looking for a good pair of leather boots but these won out for comfort with my very wide foot.
