Anyone know what kind of snake this is? It was found on front porch in Edmond, OK in June 2011.

Maybe it's just the pic, but it sure looks like a pit viper.
But I suppose you would know if it had a rattle.

Def. looks poisonous

I'd say cottonmouth, but doesn't have same pattern as I've seen around here. Where are you?

Not poisonous. Common water snake. Give it a brake and not kill it, OK. It won't hurt anybody and it doesn't taste good enough to eat.

Wouldn't know about poisonous or not, but first thing it reminded me of was a medical symbol :)

Looks like a bull snake to me they act just like a rattler they will make a rattle sound by beating their tail on the side of their body sounds real as can be.

I have mistakenly shot a couple and they get REAL big not a threat venom wise though and they can be aggressive when approached if thats in fact what kind of critter it is let it be they are excellent mousers!!!
