I recall from years past the rear engine snapper to be a quality mower, is that still the case? I have not had the opportunity to shop the dealers, but what is the experience with their current rear engine line of mowers?

They are still a very good mower with a couple of cautions.
1) If you want to use the bagger and have hills they are under powered and the front end wants to lift and slide in turns.
2) The bagger comes in two different styles. The one that is a single large bag is very difficult to empty.

3) Cutting height adjustment is coarse. Can't remember if it is half inch or full inch increments.

Get one and you can be the "Forrest Gump" of the neighborhood. At least that is what I call my friend who just purchased one.

We have a 1994 30" cut that I have used for a bush hog and until this year mowed a 5 acre field 2-3 times a year. I broke some stuff but not like I expected. The guy at my shop said if you can ride it down it can mow it up.

He may just have been trying to insure future work from me.:D

Roy I caught that Forrest Gump remark. :)
