Seeking a snatch-block kit or just a good snatch-block for my PTO winch.
Anyone have any good sources or links to same?

Thanks in advance.

TSC has larger ones like come with the Champion 10K winch. Look in the trailer hitch / winch area rather than the cable / chain section of the store.

They are less than $40 if I remember correctly.

Thanks all for your replies/suggestions as to where to find a snatch block for my tractor.
Here is what I decided to get and why:
Snatch Block N1002
As can be seen at their site, (as shown in their videos) the Lewis winch snatch block allows one to open the block to allow the cable in, as well it allows the tree saver strap to attach WITHOUT having to take the block completely apart. I purchased the larger block even though I was drawn to the smaller one but decided the larger would handle any load my Igland 4001 winch threw at it. I did not want to chance having the winch overpower the block and possibly fail.
I like the strap they sell too because it has an end that is designed to attach to the block and it will not damage the tree it is attached to.
To my fellow Vermonter who replied; I had just bought a block at TSC in Rutland before you replied, but was hoping to find something more like I described above. Where do you hail from? ( I'm in that store all the time picking up odds and ends for around the farm/home)

CM -- I live up in Stowe, but never pass an opportunity to ride my GS to pick up small items. My wife once sent me out for a loaf of bread, which I bought in Saranac Lake, NY.

Any excuse for a ride...

I try to buy this kind of stuff from rigging stores in large towns, last one I purchased was in Las Vegas, NV. I prefer something like McKissock (spelling) easy to open large enough spool so as not to damage the wire or rope.

I would be leary of a TSC block as it might become a missle.

Now that you already picked one up never mind. But you did right in getting one that opens up without having to thread cable or rope through. Baileysonline is a good source. I use 10-20 thousand pound rated blocks. Keep an eye on frayed cables and ropes as your weak links. Tree savers are a good idea as you have done. Then if you use carabiners or clevis bolts make sure they are rated high enough. Locking steel carabiners not aluminum latching.....
