Snow Snow Blower size for Class II

New Hollands Implement Chart blows! They now treat the 25D as if it never existed. To boot they replaced it with the 24D which is on the class 1. Prospective buyers have to walk away itching their heads.....

I've been searching this whole week for a blower. New Holland has a 63CSH front mount for the class 2 25-33. get ready to lay out 3500-4000$ That's if you already have a FEL so a valve may be used on the lift cylinder. Corriher out of NC was kind enough to pass this info on.

The 3pt's are a different story. They all seem to be 1500-2000$ And you really have to go to the individual sites to check HP vs. size. Some are only 60" & some are a 72" - that's for my 25HP.

I've been jealous of Kris' SS74 since he purchased it. (Nice website by the way.) But I'm having a hard time finding dealers who want to carry Woods blowers in my area. They all say they cost too much. My local dealer quoted me 2450 + tax for a Woods SB60. My jaw hit the floor. Anyway, Meteor and Luck/Now seem to be the usual around town. I couldn't find a site or anything on Meteor. I think the Luck/Now thing is because MI. is so close to Canada.

I plan on purchasing this weekend. I'll probably check up here a couple more times before hand. Seems everyone likes their blower no matter who makes it. This really makes it hard to make a decision. Goodluck

Thank God this website exist. By the way. I sent a flame to New Holland about the treatment of 25D owners. I made mention of TractorByNet several times in regard to more info and care than their whole organization. I'll post if I get a response.

I purchased a Canadian made Buhler Farm King 60" blower in November for $1400 (delivered to the back of my tractor) to use with my TC24D. It is a little bigger than I wanted but I couldn't beat the price. So far I've only used it on snow about 4" deep so it has not been "tested" in any real way, but for a 3pt blower I see prices all over the place. I would suspect that my TC24 might get bogged down by a 12"+ snowfall using a 60" blower, but we more commonly get 4" to 8" snows so when that big storm finally does come in I may go out and start clearing before the snow is finished, or move the blower to my Kubota if the 60" blower turns out to be too big. But as NH recommends up to a 63" blower, I guess I'm going to take a wait and see approach. Besides, my NH sits inside the garage and the Kubota sits outside, so I really have some incentive to keep the blower on the NH tractor.

$2450 + Tax for a 3pt blower seems like a lot of money. It might be better built than what I bought, but unless you get dumped on big time, it seems like it is excessive. I guess I figured they know a lot about snow in Canada and the Farm Kings are made there, so they must work.

I totally agree on the 2450$ And that was for a 60. Kris must have some good friends his way. I still don't know how he got such a deal.

The only others I could find that were on the lot were a Puma and the Luck/Now. The Puma had the chute & cabling all messed up and was a 54." The Luck/Now was in 60" & 72." After searching out the forums I only found 1 negative thread and it was on an older model.

I went ahead and purchased the Luck/Now S60 for 1500$ out the door. I have to agree with Bob that Canada has some experience with snow. The listed thread also points this out. I wanted the 72. And I wouldn't have questioned it on the 33. But I think it would've tasked the 25 too much under worst conditions.

I got it hooked up in about 30-45 min. The windchill is -17 today. I took it down the road where drifts were up to 5' high. It was incredible. I put her in 1st, got going in reverse and set the cruise. Turned the seat. And sat back for the ride. When I was testing in the deep stuff I just went in lowered. Whatever is in front of this thing blows. The rest went over the top. But I wanted to see if it would bog down. Wasn't happening. I stayed at 2500 RPM's. Then I lifted for the high stuff and went back a second time. Wind was blowing hard. So I went with the wind even though I was on the opposite side of the road. Thinking about it I guess it will always be that way when the snow is blowing (drifts to the opposite side of the wind direction.)

Anyway, she shot this stuff up about 30-45 feet. Which the wind took without any hitting the road. I'm really happy. Did close to a mile on both sides under an hour.

If I had to find something to complain about, it would be no skids. I'll purchase a couple from Napa this spring and weld them on. I don't like the whole unit setting on the ground. The cable for the chute sucks on all of them. I'd paid extra for a worm gear or gear box. But no one offers this that I know of. You get cable or Hydraulic (500$+remote). One more thing. The chute doesn't have much deflection at the top. If you need to aim snow right next to the blower as your going, you will have to fab up a flap for the top. I'll try to post some pictures of the action tomorrow if I have time. The kids weren't too happy while I was in my bliss because they want the sleds out. So I'll have to gas them up first thing.

Goodluck on your purchases. Hope this helps out.

Mike if you pick up a set of shoes from Woods they will bolt on to your blower once you drill a couple of holes and are reversible. Part #120-2-0230 Good Luck! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'll have to double check, but I am quite sure that even my local Kubota dealer was under 2 grand for the blower.. I'll look at my invoice tonight.

I just looked at my invoice, I paid $1950 for my Woods SS74, for what it's worth.

Stills sounds good to me. I don't know the difference between the SB & the SS. But I feel the dealer was way out of line on the SB60 @ 2450. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

BTW - I've found out since my post that the 63CSH is not for the TC25-33. The dealer seemed to think there wouldn't be much to modify. But @ 5000$ I wanted to know where the cab and heater was. TC25 owners are still offered the 716B in a 48" or 60." The dealer told me they are very hard to find and there's no negotiating on the price when you do.

One of the reasons I didn't buy a NH blower was because they were priced out at almost DOUBLE what other brands are priced at. I am happy with my Buhler Farm King and while it might not be the heaviest duty unit on the market, it seems plenty stout enough for my needs. From what I can remember when I was searching for blowers, a 72 to 74 inch blower should run you between $1900 and $2400, depending on the brand. I found 60" blowers for $1400 to $1850, depending on brand. And dealers prices are all over the place, the identical blower could be priced $200 to $500 more, or less, depending on the dealer!

Unfortunately, because the snow is already here, you may have lost some negotiating power.
