Tip speed of "a mile a minute" throws snow pretty well.

so the 3000 to 5000 fpm figure is what I would go for. How you get there is up to your hardware.

Remember Pi ar ROUND ;-)

Thanks for your tip speed feet per minute, is a 14" impeller at 1100 rpm turning at about 4,396 fpm. Is my math correct?
So looking forward to your reply and THANK YOU for your help!!

Tip speed is circumference x rpm or pi x diameter x rpm With your numbers: 3.14159 x 14 “ x 1100rpm / 12” / ft or 4031 ft per minute.

This tractor has two pto speeds to choose from either 1100 or 2500 rpm. I hope the 1100 rpm will be alright, and the tractor pto is cw rotation which would make the snow exit the left side of the impeller once again I hope.

I know nothing about blowing snow but enjoy reading about it.

But this is very confusing to me. When you say 1100 rpm and 2500 rpm, are you referring to what is marked on your tachometer?

That marks what engine speed you need to turn 540 rpm at the PTO. I have never seen a tractor with 2500 rpm PTO speed. :confused3:

If I am correct, you need to use 540 rpm for your math to determine tip speed.

No, we are talking shaft speed of blower. 540 rpm is typical for rear pto. The higher speeds are from mid mount and front pto. Front can be a clutch from the engine shaft , generally associated with smaller tractors.

I guess to understand the concept you need to know that the kubota f2400 is kind of like sitting on a tractor backwards with the steering wheels and engine behind you with attachments in front of you. As I said before the big traction wheels are under your seat with you looking at nothing but the tractor attachment, in this case the snowblower. And yes Kubota sold this tractor with 2 two pto speeds witch ever you select with the selector lever. It is a little confusing and hard to explain unless you are familiar with this tractor. Hope you can understand my poor explanation.
Thankyou everyone for all your in helping me with my project
