Haven't had a chance to climb up on a ladder to look, but in high winds there is snow blowing into the barn. Looking up, in the inside of the barn, I can see snow on the ledge where the top roof line overlaps the lower roof.

Don't have a problem with rain, must be too heavy to get blown in?

The barn is about 80 years old, in good shape, but a lot more of this and the floors are going to wear faster than they should (not to mention that our stuff is getting covered with snow).

Is this normal? I don't know how wide the opening is - I've got this stuff called Great Stuff (expanding foam) for another purpose, and I'm wondering if the same technique can be used to fill this space between the roofs. On the other hand, the barn is almost 80 feet long.

The barn is not insulated - so am I causing any problems by sealing this space??

Thanks for any replies.

Pete
