I just plowed some (over 20" drifts in certain area) snow from the recent storm. I need help on the best way to plow (rear blade) with a gravel drive. I end up pulling a lot of gravel with the snow. If I raise the blade slightly of the snow, I miss too much snow (for my liking) in the dips and then on the slight bumps, I still pull gravel. Any suggestions by people more experience than myself?
Thx in advance
MODS, Is there anyway I can move this to the General Forum instead of just being in the Kioti Forum. thanks again

If you shorten your top link it will angle the cutting edge and won't scrape quite as much gravel. Depending on how thick the gravel/limestone is there is really no way, I know of, to prevent moving stone. Unless you want to put skids on the blade. Also the heavier the blade the more stone it will pull. I hope this helps, good luck!

The best way to control a rear blade so that you do not pick up stones is to use skid shoes or gage wheels. Here is a thread on the subject. Click Here.

I always turn my blade around. My Dad does the same with his 8N. Works great for us. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the replies. I will turn the blade around and see how that works as that is an easy solution. If that doesnt work, I guess I will have to put a little more time and effort into it and try the gauge wheels. Thanks for help all.

I turned my blade around as well and angle it when I didn't have the FEL. If it isn't scraping it low enough, I would lengthen the top link to make the blade edge stand up a little more. It worked well on my 200 ft. drive and never had a problem getting out even with a 2wd pickup with no weight in the rear.
