I have a front mount snow plow on the GC2400 and I had a lot of snow coming over the top today. Had to plow about 14" today and had keep going over it again to catch the over flow. Has anyone added a extension to the top of their plow? Looking for ideas. Thanks

Is it 'piles' of snow coming over? or just 'spray' from speed?

Most people put a 6-12" rubber flap on, and it keeps almost everything from going over.

Today the snow was pushy and would not roll so big balls of snow were coming over the top. That much snow and a scut you don't get much speed in most places.

That snow wouldn't rate a second look around here. Somewhere in this picture are four trailers, two farm tractors, a skid steer and a backhoe. I'll probably find them by Spring.

Ed, a 8"-10" piece of rubber belting across the top will do the trick and is an easy drill & bolt job. You can bolt ti on sticking straight forward, if the snow get's deep enough, it will roll the belting upward and deflect it just like it was a vertical blade extension.

Rusty, not sure if I asked before but, how wide is that blade,
looks like a good 8 1/2 footer.

Find a horse barn that is replacing their stall mats, standard size is 6 ft by 4 ft - a 6 or 8 inch wide 1/2 thick inch strip should do it.
Some are 3/4 inches thick, but most barn owners don't want to move those around too much, so try them once and then go to the 1/2 inch ones.

As long as you have traction and power to push, it wont matter how tall the blade is, if you have enough snow it will come over the top.

IT comes over the top of my 28" blade just the same as it comes over the ~40" high blade on one of the loaders. Same as it comes over the ~36" high boxes too.

Just keep in mind that the more snow you hold in the plow, the harder it is to push. IF you have plenty of push power in reserve, go for it.

IMO, those rubber flaps dont do a whole lot on the newer style plows that are curved more at the top. But are nice on older style plows like the meyers

How would round baler belting do? I have some I took off years ago but it is only 6" wide. I could set it so it set out all the way in front of the blade.

It'll help, all you'll be out is some drilling and a little hardware. In VA it's prolly a while inbetween deep snows.

how stiff is that? You want something pretty stiff.

Alot of people use an old tire tread. "think a recap section that blew off a semi"
