While I can appreciate the sentiment, I don't share it. Any time spent on the tractor is work.

Mike - You're not having enough fun! I'll bet that a heated cab would make the snow removal an easier pill to swallow. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm looking forward to significant snowfall so I can give my new (used) blower a workout. With plowing you are simply pushing the snow aside. With a blower you are churning it up & spitting it out - you really get to show that snow who's boss /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

While I don't have a heated cab, wifey did get me a new carhartt arctic coat for my birthday, so I should be reasonably toasty. We were talking about valentines day. I asked her if we could exchange implements - she laughed & turned me down /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

You're probably correct! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I spent about 5 hours either plowing or shoveling snow yesterday. Four driveways/parking areas that I could do with the tractor (2 hours seat time). Four roofs that needed raked off and/or shoveled. (three hours 'arm and back' time)

I'm gonna look into Carhartt (sp?) winter gear if this weather keeps up, for sure for next winter. When I came in the house after an hour on the tractor (one thumb was a bit cold!), my wife asked me why my jeans were wet above my knees. I said cuz that's where it's been snowing on me!

Re: Snow Plowing-The last bastion for the Man\'s man

I'm not saying anything bad about Carhartt coats . . . but take a look at coats made by a company called Lowe Alpine.

They make a lot of the coats that real mountain climbers use you see on those National Geographic specials. I have a Lowe Alpine coat that I got a couple years ago. I have NEVER been cold when wearing that coat. No matter how cold or how windy the conditions, the coat is amazing. It's outer shell is coated in someting they call Triple Point Ceramic. I don't know what it is, but snow just won't stick to it.

I have never found another winter coat that compares to it. But just a warning, it was EXPEN$IVE. BUT, well worth it, in my opinion.

Re: Snow Plowing-The last bastion for the Man\'s man

You southern tractor guys don't know what your missing. Plowing 8" of snow with the TC40D, 7' rear blade, Curtis Cab warmed up to about 55 degrees, may be the most gratifying task left for us.

I don't have a cab on my TC-40D and every time I go back out with the snowblower I daydream about a warm cab for the rest of the day. Maybe, just maybe one of these days I'll bite the bullet give in and follow your lead. Right now though I'm green with envy. I hope you enjoy that warm winter ride. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh come on now Mike. Real men don't need cabs and bulky jackets and all that wimpy winter stuff. Thats how you know theyre real men engaged in a manly activity. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Isnt that what this thread is about?? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well said TCowner, finally someone who sees the world as I do. I think I'm even wearing off on my 9 year old daughter, first think she does when I head out on the tractor to clear the drive she gets out her small snow shovel and play hoe and goes to town on the sidewalk, she is just as proud as I with her work, and so am I she really does put alot into it and it saves me the time. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I thought the thread was about blowing/plowing snow from inside a 55 degree cab in a pair of boxers and a T shirt! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Re: Snow Plowing-The last bastion for the Man\'s man

The only way I could have more fun, bigger blower, bigger tractor, more snow, a lot more snow. OK, now if I can get the picture posted!

Oh my mistake...I thought it was about blowing/plowing snow in subzero temps w/ a 40 mph wind in your face in a pair of boxers and a T shirt! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
