Attached here is a close up picture of the angled iron bracket. This is how I think I will modify my plow foe next winter.

Here is a picture of my JD 950 with the plow mounted. It is by no means pretty, but it sure worked out better then I expected. It's improvement and beautification is on my list of warmer weather projects

Clever, simple and effective. I like those kinds of jobs! Nice work.

...I do have to get off and manually change the angle...

Why? I see the cylinders, and the hoses look like they're hooked to something

Nice looking plow attachment.
Do you plan on beefing up under the bucket also behind the angle iron for support?

I apologize for the lack of a picture. I believe it is to large and it is timing out. As soon as I can remember how to reduce the picture I will try posting it again.

Thomas These pictures were taken at MB tractor as you may already know. Unfortunatly it means drilling some holes in your bucket, but I suppose that a person could weld the angle iron in place. I believe that I will drill and bolt mine so that I can transfer it to my future Boomer when the time comes.
MB tractor told me that they would sell me just the bracket for $150 which doesn't sound unreasonable. Although the bracket looks quite simple to make and I have my fathers mig welder here, I haven't a clue how to weld and I don't know if I can have a local welder make it up for anyless then $150. After all is considered, the materials, cutting, welding etc. I know what my time is worth and I wouldn't expect him to work for any less.

markcg2000, The pictures I posted were not of my tractor, they were of a Kubota that was at my local New Holland dealer last fall. My plow on my JD 950 is still presently a manual angle. I took several pictures for referance because I liked the simple way the systems seem to go together. I would think that there must be alot of old plow blades out there in junkyards etc and that anyone with the inclination to make up such a bracket with or without the hydrolics would have themselves a nice snow plow. It would sure beat looking over your shoulder while trying to use a rear blade I would think. But with the added weight hanging off the front end some rear counter weight would be most necessary.

Thomas, I personally believe that I would like a little reinforcement for the under side of the bucket and will most likely add some to mine for next winter when I improve on my Half A**ed tempory mount. I was not able to get a real good look at the underside of the 2 at MB tractor that I have taken pictures of and I neglected to ask them if the used any. So I don't know if they feel it is necessary or not.

Well that was succesful. Here is a close up picture of my plow and bucket. Like I said earlier, it is only held on with a good chain and and chain binder. Not knowing if my turf tires would have the needed traction etc. I jury rigged it for the 1st. winter to see if it would even work for me. Now that I know it works well, tractor had ALL the traction it needed, I will make the mounting system more solid and safe.
