Grading Snow removal- Curtis Blade?

Thomas, Incredibly easier !! I bought the tractor approx. this time last year so all I had was the FEL to work with, of course we had a lot more snow last year. I have NEVER plowed snow before with anything, so this was a fun and interesting learning experiance for me.
With the plow on the FEL I found that I could plow right up to the snow bank and raise the plow and push the snow right up and sometimes over the snow bank. I hate the closed in feeling that snow banks give me, so where possible, except over where my water line runs, I plowed my yard right back to the tree line.
As long as Health, Finances and the Good Lord are with me. I will never be without a setup like this. I have created a monster within myself, and now this monster must be fed on a regular basis or he gets cranky.

The mirror, I only have the one mounted, does help a little, but is no means the proper solution. I have it mounted on the right hand upright for the loader and it does help some, despite a fair amount of vibration but the view is quite limited especially with the backhoe in the way. My plan is to install a canopy and mount at least one mirror on it.
I do a lot of road maintenance for this lake front development, ie. pot hole filling, ditch cleaning, brush clean up etc. and I am scared to death that one of these days either I am going to back up into the path of a car or one of the homeowners is going run into me. For some reason road cones and Men Working signs don't seem to mean anything to some people. We won't even get into the developments posted 20 MPH speed limit signs that go totally ignored.
So I am a big stickler for lights and mirrors and signs and road cones etc. and anything else I can do to protect myself and others from possible injury or a lawsuit due to my neglegance in taking precautions. I carry a $1,000,000 liability policy but I am in no hurry to excerise it.

I agree w/you Mark one can do a quicker better job removing snow w/a plow setup, and you can double the height of a snow bank easier w/a plow, also you don't have to worry about the front tires sinking down or getting stuck.

This is my plow setup..photo 1of2

Thomas, Thats a nice looking tractor you have there. I can't see it real clear, but it looks like the way your plow frame bolts into the bucket is very similar to the way MB tractor sets them up. I will feel much safer when I have mine mounted that way.
Having mine dangling off the cutting edge the way it is had me a little concerned, so I tended to watch it closely and plow slowly and carefully. It only fell off once and that was because the first chain I used broke. It was to small and therefore weak.
It was a little disheartening, never mind embarrassing to push a blade full of snow up to the snow bank, pick the loader up a little, back away and leave your plow sitting in the snow bank.
