Well the price is right /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, but at 6 feet it is too big for my TC18. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. Is the chute adjustable?

Well...the heavy rain on Wednesday killed my freshly plowed driveway, so I spent the last two days trying to fill the ruts with asphalt millings...worked pretty well with the B7500 and my neighbors old, old tractor with a back blade. I really need some erosion control to help with the really heavy rains...anyway...after about an hour of work, I started leaking UDT all over the place....Jim at Anteitam in Leitersburg sent over a guy to look at it around 12:30 even though his guys got off at noon...I was a bit concerned since I only had 15 hours on this tractor...turns out that the hydralic coupler fittings were loose...also, some fittings underneath the tractor were loose too...Mike the service guy fixed it right up for me and filled me up with UDT and checked the rest of the tractor over to see if anything else that should have been taken care of when it was delivered was overlooked...turns out that I was ready to go in about an hour.....I spent the rest of the day on the driveway...a total of about five hours on the meter today....I finally started to figure out how to get a pretty full bucket of millings to spread....I wish that Anteitam had a rookie class...it would have saved me a bunch of time in changing implements and figuring out about all the pins that I need...cotter pins, linch pins, hair pins, ...I was ready to pull out what little hair that I have left...anyway..it all made for a great day on the tractor....I just hope that we have snow tonight and not rain...it's much easier to clear the snow than it is to fix the damage that the rain can cause...

Weather forecast is calling for sleet, freezing rain, snow and high winds. Looks like we'll need another thread for this storm!

The good news is that there will be more seat time for us Notheasterners!

skycop, in looking at your profile, it doesn't look like you have a rearblade, but it sounds like your neighbot does. Can you borrow it? If so, you can ditch on either side of the driveway to control runoff. It was the first project I did with my new 7800 this summer on my new/old driveway. Steep hill, heavy rains, lots of erosion. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Took me half a day to dig ditches on etiher side of the drive, maybe 450 feet in length and about six inches deep. Since then, no erosion. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Don't know your situation, but it might help, and it's not hard to do (unless your property is on ledge).

Yes the chute turns manually. The unit weighs about 375 pounds, the cg is 2ft past the end of the hitch arms. A 20 hp tractor would have power enough but 25-35 hp one would handle the weight better. I used it on a 34 hp Kubota and it was about perfect. If nobody snaps it up I'll keep it as a spare.

NARCNH - thanks for the input...my problem is that I live on the side of a pretty steep mountain and the driveway wasn't built to handle the really heavy rain and meltoff that we got the other day...most times I'm OK, so with that in mind, what I am now looking for is an excavator with a backhoe to put in a few additional (I already have five) strategically placed drain pipes to handle the heavy rain/runoff that we get once or twice a year...my neighbor is also going to divert a drain that he has to a bigger ditch and help to keep it away from my driveway....ah, the joys of mountain living! Anybody can live in the woods...it's the view that makes it worth being here!

Their calling for 20 inches and winds up to 30mph. Brought home a 633 Manitow to assist as I don't even have an unsold Kubota with blower to play with. Already dug up the lawn practicing with four inches the day before yesterday. The learning process on any new toy can be hazardous!

I sure hope this storm tracks more to the east, at least it will give us a fighting chance for snow more than ice and freezing rain, ughh!!

skycop, you lucky son-of-a-gun, a perfect justification for a cool attachment (trying to look on the bright side for ya). I've been trying to come up with an excuse to buy a backhoe. Am planning to put in french drains around this old house in the spring (stone foundation lets in way too much water), and was thinking that, depending on the quotes I get to do it, it might make more sense for me to buy the BH and do it myself. Fingers crossed.

Good luck with your project!

p.s. It's a balmy 15 degrees out and snowing to beat the band.
