Snow Removal - TOOOO Late

You can try Custom Canvas in Buffalo, NY. They make some of the best tents in the country. They will special make the type of tent you need. Take a look at their website and give them a call - http://www.customcanvas.com.

I usually clear the snow from my tractor tents/garages after every storm. This one did not make it. We had a nasty storm over three days which included rain, freezing rain and then snow (40cm). Fortunately, this one only had the backhoe in it and my tractors were in my two other tents that survived.

Can anyone recommend a replacement tent? Seems to be many on the market these days, not sure if any are better than the average ones. Prefer Heavy Duty material with UV protection.

Thanks in advance for whatever help you can provide.

I have three Shelterlogic shelters (formerly Cover-It shelters). The youngest is 10 years old and the oldest is 25 years+. New fabric tops are necessary every 10-15 years and I always buy the heavy duty material. One pointer, though- if you buy one of their "garage in a box" shelters, they are manufactured in China. Better to order a specific size and it will be made in the USA.

This is my second winter for for the garage-ina-box and so far it has been okay. I do have to keep the snow load down to about 2". I put 1/4" plywood between the roof supports and the roof, to stiffen the fabric on the roof. That helps a lot with rain 'pooling' and snow. I set it up on railway ties for some added height primarily because I put a 2x8 floor in it set on 4x4's.
I park my Jeep TJ in it. The Jeep is lifted a couple of inches, and I needed the door clearance.

As for the tractor shed, the Shelter Logic shed is going to get sliding doors in the spring and get rid of the zipper roll up door.

I have one of these and the snow usually slides off by itself. I got it for the 8' door so I don't have to lower my ROPS. I've got mine where its sheltered by the wind and I would recommend getting a better one if your location is exposed to the wind. We also have an L&R 17'x30 hoop barn for our goats, its much much stronger and the cover is going on 6 years and its still pretty good.
