Sounds like a lot. But it's only 4"/hr.

Yeh, but if you don't have a blower, you certainly start running out of places to put it. I guess you don't wait until that one is over to start trying to clear it

I want to see pictures!

For this last snowfall of 24 inches, a snow blower would have been nice to do the driveway and even up our road (because they only plowed one lane). However, for tight quarter like in our turnaround area between garage and carriage house, the loader is the way to go because it would be tough to ensure that the blower didn't discharge into something that would crack or break.

Took me 2 hours to clear the turnaround area and another 2 hours to do our approximately 300 foot driveway with (mostly) the FEL.

Have used nothing but a FEL for years to do the driveway, works well. I would buy a quick attach blade to replace the loader but feel like I would miss the capabilities of the loader and a rear blade is out of the question for me. Much to hard on my 62 year old neck.

8' in Seven days during the Chrismas Season, 5-8 years ago, is the most that I recall on a continuous 'dump'! Between my sons, and I, we were Blowing snow almost around the clock! We've had our 'Blizzards' over the years, but I still had my house, roof, no flooding, hurricanes, mud slides, wildfires, tornatos, etc. Summers are pretty nice! Met a salesman from the South on one of our 'Blue-bird days in June, that remarked: "Darn, this is Beautiful! Sunny, 70 degrees, I thought Winter in Buffalo was two-weeks of bad ice skating!" Had to chuckle!! ~Scotty

I often try to think through this.
With 3ft ON THE GROUND the tractor doesn't get far before the front bucket gets packed, then what ?
Well, so far I have just dozed through to wherever I will stack it, but there must be a depth at which that just doesn't work.
Whether that is 3ft or 5ft is still unknown to me, FORTUNATELY (-:

I suppose I might try to roller THE WHOLE THING down, just keep running into it, shift a bit to the side and run in again.
I do that a lot anyway on grass, it survives better than if I just run the same one path across it.
A rollered down area is probably a good idea anyway, just for maneuvering.

A rear blade is certainly more useful for moving snow than the hoe would be and although the weight of the hoe would help traction I do keep the rear blade on mine Dec through early March.

With that much snow, blower, blower, blower. Make your own path. Be the master of your driveway. Bury the neighbor's house. (Oops!)

Here's pictures of a 9 foot storm a few years ago. 3 foot a day for
3 days. FEL & blower had a workout. This was a March storm. Could
only blow snow in piles. It all melted by the end of April.

Ya know--- 12-14 inches here was killer!!!
I got the first 2-3 inches and then fell asleep by the fire..
and then the last was really tough!

After I broke the scrape, I thought I should fab up something to put on the bucket..
I have lots of scrap wood-- 2x6 and 2x8s-- 4 to 6 foot...
maybe I could screw togather a "blade" of sorts...

Anyway...
I have a feeling this winter will be a tough one...
