Yah, I thought of it but I want a CLEAN look :D

hmmmm. Gonna think of something :)

I'll post pix if I come up with something :D

Canopy fittings can be purchased. If you have a marine supply store nearby you can check them out. A quick Internet search turned up this example.

I made my own boat canopy years ago with these fittings and EMT conduit and it worked real good.

The best setup is a 4wd tractor 20+hp with shaft drive blower - you can put the snow where you want it. Not too big of load for your tractor with 24hp. The design of the attachment matters. The older attachments had one belt from the PTO through the auger and back using guide pulleys. These always threw belts and were unreliable. The later designs have one horizontal belt with a right-angle gear to the auger. These work very well. You will need chains and weights. Wheel weights are better because they don't put pressure on the rear axle. I have a Cub 1054 with 75lbs in each wheel with a 42" blower and it is a workhorse. Will throw dry snow over the utility lines and gets good traction in the snow. That said, you can get stuck because these machines don't have a lot of clearance. You need to use a clearing pattern that allows you room to maneuver. With wet snow, take less of a bite. Listen to the engine as you work and take your time, your machine will provide years of service.

Although I'm a little late for those of you that have solved steering problems on lawn tractor snowblowers. This winter season I have switched from a Troybilt 30'' walk behind to a Husqvarna 2348 lawn tractor with a 40'' Bercomac blower manual lift. The first and second storm was a steering disaster. I searched the forums for a solution. The one I liked was a roller chain wrapped around the center of the front tires. I purchased a #40 ten ft. length from Tractor Supply plus an extra master link. My front tires are 15x6x6. I removed them and benched them, deflated and measured the circumference after I squeezed the centers down with a crank strap. I cut the chain, lubed the tire tread, applied the chain and secured the master link. After I removed the strap, I centered the chain and pounded the tire to even the pressure. I inflated to 15 lbs., reinstalled them and waited for the next snowstorm. We got 8 inches of light snow last night, Out came the blower tractor, I can't believe the difference of steering control I now have. I think I will have to try a lower air pressure so the chain has a better bite on sharp turns. I recommend this application to any non ribbed supple front tire. I don't recommend this for old, hard tires, they may not form to the chain.
