snowblower chute mods (B7610 and BX2750) install and parts

Instead of going thru all that, I just used a cheap 3/8 drive extension from HF snaped in to the socket. I cut it to length & it fit inside the rotator screw just like the post off the universal from the hand crank that was removed. Drilled it for the locking bolt.
Also, my gear had 6 teeth, & I found that a 12 point socket fit the gear shape better than a 6 point.

Sorry about the delay, I've been out of town.

It didn't take much time at all. I had planned to drill through and install a cotter pin but during testing the fit was tight enough it functions fine without it. I kinda like it that way as it could prevent damage if it ices up. So far it's working great. If it loosens up I will pin it.

Minot - lived there a couple years. Good people.

Very nice job. You may want to build a enclosure for the power window motor to keep it dry.

Thanks. It's sealed quite well. The black part is plastic. If corrosion starts on the galvanized metal I will paint it.

Just a quick follow-up. I came back here to get the part number for my window motor.
It's still working great after lots of hours, I just decided I should have a backup motor in case it fails during a storm.
Just got about 18".
Loving the cab I built for it.

I installed a car window motor to rotate my G1800 blower chute. I also installed a linear actuator to raise and lower the chute discharge. I installed an in-line fuse to protect the circuit. I've blown two fuses when I rotated the chute too far. Not a big deal but I bought an aircraft type 10A fuse that pops out when tripped and which can be simply pushed back in to reset it.

I kept the in-line fuse which blew over the weekend. I plan to gradually increased the rating of the in-line fuse until the other fuse pops first.
