I am trying to find out if I can put a snowblower on a GX345. Does anyone have this setup? If so how well does it work? Also where can I get one and for approx. how much? Thanks

Seems to me you look that up on the Deere.com website.

I just checked quickly. I couldn't find that model number. What year is your tractor.??

On another forum I heard that the model you have takes the JD 42" single stage snow thrower.

Doesn't look good. How about a 48" front blade.??
I would put a blade on it, as you suggested, but I don't think the GX345 is big enough to push much snow. I would trade it in for something that came with a blower, but I just hate to give up this tractor. I have had it for 6 years now and it has never given me a problem. Well I shouldn't say that. I just started having a stalling issue, but thats for another thread. It is a very solid machine, compared to the new ones. Its a 2003 with 250 hours on it, in near perfect condition. About a month ago the dealer offered me 300 less then I paid for it. I bought it when it was a year old for $4000, great deal, so as I said, I hate to give it up. I guess I will pass by the dealer and see what he suggests. Thanks

I would be very tempted to look hard at the deal the dealer is offering. A new X530, or even X500 will accept a two stage snowblower, and not cost you a lot of dollars with that kind of trade in.

Forget the blade. I have a 2005 GX345 and before this one I had a 1999 345 and I have the same snowblower. And it works great, my neighbor has a x540 with a 2 stage blower he got last year and he was telling me how much faster he would be able to blow snow. Well I gave him a few lessons on blowing snow. His blower may work better in wet sloppy snow but no way in fresh powder. I can throw it 50-60 feet him maybe 30 feet. I have a blade also but only use it to move dirt in summer. If you get as much snow as I do a blade is worthless unless you got a **** of a lot of room. Because your only going to be able to move the snow once and every time it snows the pile will get closer.
My dealer told me the only reason JD stop making single stage blower is they last a life time never wear out and are to cheap to buy. Way more money to be made with 2 stage blowers and the impellers brake more parts to buy. I have seen blowers sell on Craigslist for $400-500. Any blower from a 325,335,345,355 and some LX models will fit. You will need to buy and put on a front lift kit that you can order from any JD dealer for about $80.00 The information on this forums is well sometime not very good. If you weren't so far away I'd come buy it. Like in some of my other post my 1999 345 I put 2160 hours on it in 10 years and just replaced it with a 2005 GX345 that sat in a storage locker for 5 years, I paid $4850 and I think I got the deal. My neighbor has a x540 he bought so to have a tractor similar to mine well even that his has more HP maybe he is not willing to do a back to back pull with me.(he will lose) IMO the 345 is the best belt tractor JD ever made and my dealer says the same thing.

Thanks, do you know of any other sites that I could look for something like a snow blower, plow or tiller for the GX345?
