Is anyone using a snowblower on their TC 24D? I drove by a place today that sells equipment on consignment. I didn't stop but it looked to be about 5'. I looked at the NH website but they don't seem to offer a blower for the 24. Can I put a blower on the back or is the tractor too small? If I can put one on what is the limit on size?

I have a 52" woods SS52 on the back of mine with hydraulic chute rotator and love it. It is just the right size to cover the width of my turf tires. The only real load I put on last year was cutting back the banks of snow and chunk ice and it went through like butter, but I did have to adjust speed based on listening to the motor. 5' might be a bit much for the TC24, with HST you just back off. One word of caution - if you buy a Woods, remove the shear bolt on the drive shaft and replace it with a Grade 2 or 5. Mine (and others) came with a Grade 8 that will shut you down cold at full 540 PTO rpm!

Yes...I have a 54" rear mount Pronovost Puma. The chute is hand operated. My TC24 didnt have any problems running it even thru drifts and windrows.

I use a 60" Buhler Farm King snowblower on the back of my TC24. I have only used it for one season so far, but the tractor had no trouble handling heavy snow, I would say that while I had some heavy & wet conditions, we did not have a really heavy snow year and most of the snows were under 5" and the drifts were no more than 15" deep.

The only problem I had was weight, the blower is heavy and it made the front end of the TC24 light. I solved that by putting 100# of wheel weights on the front wheels of the tractor. (I used EZ Weights, there are photos in my gallery on the PHOTO page of TBN). I do not use the FEL when I have the blower on the rear end, but the FEL would easily provide more than enough counter weight to offset the weight of the blower.

I believe NH offers a 63" front blower for the TC24, I figure if the manufacturer can recommend a 63" blower for the machine, then the 60" blower is right in line with what the tractor can handle without bogging down the engine or causing other undue stress.

I've got a blower mounted on the 3ph of my TC24D. The blower is a NH model 716D and it's 51" across the widest part of the opening ...matter of fact I just got off of it.

Review wise I'd say I'm pretty pleased w/ the unit. It's fairly stout and it's well put together. It blows snow about 10' or so to the side adjusted as I have it now and the chute is manually rotatable from the seat (but to adjust trajectory you have to hop off). I have a gravel driveway so the first two or three snows are a hassle as you'll go through a few shear pins and one particular 5/16" or so bolt that spins the actual blower. Smaller pea gravel stuff will normally shoot right through it w/out much problem but you'll be reaching for a wrench if you try to pass anything much bigger.

Next year? Paved driveway /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Being able to use both the FEL and the blower to manage snow is really handy for my property as we get several feet a season.

I just got a TC24DA a few weeks ago, my dealer sold me a 64CSR rear blower for it. Unfortunately my new toys home is up at our cabin in northern MI. where its needed the most. But a busy schedule has kept me from going up on weekends to play. The dealer told me that New Holland recomends the 64" for the TC24DA but did mention that the first pass depending on how much snow there was on the ground would be slow going. I am still a little concerned has to the TC24DA ability to run the 64" blower has we have a friend that keeps a portion of our drive clear so our LP tank can be filled. And he has a Kubota I think its a 3830,with a 64" front mount blower when he makes his first pass it defiantly puts a bigtime load on his motor. Granted the snow at the time was aprox. 20" and he was moving at quite a good clip. I believe New Holland spec.s out the 64CSR for both the TC24DA and the TC33DA I thought about buying the TC33DA just for the extra PTO power to run the blower but we only have 500 to 600 ft of drive to keep clear and the TC24DA with it's smaller footprint works better for me. Rear blowers for New Holland tracors are now made by the same company that is making them for Kubota. Time will tell, I can't wait for a big snow.. I will try to post some customary pictures in the future.
