Hi Guys,
Thanks for your suggestions - all offer some improvement.
I have been dooing some checking on the Canadian Home Hardware website and found a 2 part epoxy enamel made for refinishing bath tubs etc. (part number 1710-367). This looks like it might just do the trick and it comes in two convenient sizes 500ml and 1 litre, for $32.99 and $39.99.
The prices are ok and being a two part epoxy, should make it tough as well as hard. So hopefully it won't be too inclined to chip readily. The only con is the surface prep - which you would probably have for any coating anyway.
I also like the idea of the white plastic liner for the chutes - or any other colour for that matter.
Hmmm, seems there are a number of different approaches that can be made for a reasonable price.
Whatever I decide to do, won't get done until this coming summer since winter is not over yet. However the above certainly gives me some interesting ideas.
Thanks one and all for your thoughts - very much appreciated.
Cheers
Jim
