I have a guy that wants to sell his Allied Buhler YC8520 in exl shape...I see it's for a Cat II hitch...is this too big for my tractor ? If not, what do I have to do to get this mounted on a Cat I 3 point?
Thanks

Depends more on the hp of your tractor and the requirements of the blower. Those are the most important to match up. Being cat II prolly is a clue that the tractor doesn't have the HP but not a "for sure" clue. :)

I'd say that is not enough tractor for this blower, your at half the minimum recomended pto hp.

Cat 2 has bigger pins - best to replace the lower pins on the blower with Cat 1 pins that will fit into your arms. A Cat 1 top link pin will be loose in the blower's top link but will work ok. The pto shaft ends are the same. Beyond the hookup pin differences there is nothing about Cat 2 that will automatically be too big for your tractor. If it is more than 2 feet wider than your tractor's rear tires - or if it so heavy the front end is light, the blower may be wider and heavier than you want. The power needed to blow snow varies - if the blower takes too big a bite for the power you have, use a lower gear or take a partial bite.

With our DX60 it came with the cat 1 and cat 2 balls, you just twisted the ball for the differant cat setting. We got a snowblower with ours and it's 74" which is just wider than the rear tires on our tractor, I did not want to get too big and be able to get into smaller places.

Looking at their website that blower is for a 60-90 hp tractor.

Here is the link to their specs, hope it helps.

I figured it might be too big...
Got a line on a Lorenz530 too....66 inches wide... and with my tractor wheels set out and R4's, the snowblower will be slightly narrower. I have read some posts about the tractor being narrower...is it all that bad?
Thanks again

You can always make a couple angled wings on the blower to pull the snow in as you go

I would second Allen on the wings. If you add 4-6" to the width it should be Ok. If the snow is very deep just go slow.

If the price is right I say buy it. I have had the same model for 30 yrs, on a 35hp IH340, then the White 2-60 and now the L3830hst w/curtis cab. Use the hst to creep through the 2ft high drifts, otherwise it works fine in 6-8" with the full width. Up and back, and the driveway is done......
