I have about 1/2 mile driveway I plowed with an ATV and plow this winter. The heavy snow eventually bent the mount of the ATV plow. I'm considering getting a snowblower for my BX 22. Using the loader this year dug up a lot of gravel from the driveway.

What size blower would work well on the BX22?

Any other suggestions. The driveway is gravel and hilly.

I don't know if it's a good idea. You may spend more time changing shear pins than blowing snow off you gravel driveway.

Set your feet(on the snow blower) for a couple of inches or so above the drive and it's fine. you could also put guide wheels on it so it would move a little smoother.

You should buy a Pronovost 540 or 620 Puma group 1 rear mount blower as you will need a farm grade snowblower and a good wiresless back up camera from wally mart for less than 150 dollars-no sore necks that way too.

The Puma will cut through the heavy snow you have with no isssues as these snow blowers are built for canadian winters and heavy wet snows like yours,
and fluid film, furniture polish cheap cooking spray or WD40 works wonders to slick up the auger housing and impeller and with clarences impeller kit you will have no worries about snow banks too.

The rear mount puma will chew up frozen snow banks too.

/you should look at the pronovost web site www.pronovost.qb.ca/snowblowers

The Pronovost Puma snowblower is very rugged and will work and work with no isssues and the 540 rpm units will work nicely with that tractor rear mount with a driveline clutch with no issues.

Pronovost is offering front mounts for smaller tractors for their snow blowers and other PTO implements too if you want to mount 0the PUMA up front with no issues.

The nice thing is if you trade up you can keep that snowblower without worries or issues for the next tractor.

If you buy one of clarences impeller kits your throwing distance will increase a huge amount without plugging the puma 540 or 620.

My two cents

If you want a front mount I believe the only option you have is a Kubota. If you're thinking rear mount, there are many options. Even though your Kubota is underrated for this, I wouldn't hesitate to use a 60" blower. You may end up going a little slower at times but for the most part you'll be working more efficiently and with less chance of driving over unblown snow.

The key is to pack down the first few snowfalls with your vehicle. This helps keep the gravel where it belongs.

snowblowing is great! however, plowing does the same job. Did you liked using the ATV with plow? you could mount a plow on your FEL arms. BXpanded has one that you can mount fast onto the bucket. I mounted a truck plow on my BX and love it. In the deep snow, I need smaller passes, but the light, deep, fluffy stuff is just fun to play errrr clear with.

I bought a Meteor 5' rear blower this winter and loved it. Although we had a very low snow year, it worked excellent for me. I have a 1/4 mile long very hilly gravel driveway. I broke NO shear pins all winter. Rear chains were a must for my site.

Obviously the advantage over plowing is you don't have snowbanks to deal with.

Well, all good ideas. But I'd go with the suggestion of snow plow(w/shoes) on FEL. Plow on the way out, snowblow(snowblower a little wider than you wheels) on the way back. No banks...a little quicker when you have smaller storms. If you been doing this with an ATV, the tractor will handle it easily I would think. I've never plwed with an ATV.

Good block heater, might want to put a Curtis cab on. Either that or use a snowmobile helmet. i got all kinds of ideas on how to spend your money.:D

I will agree on the Meteor rear blower. Nice rugged machine at a good price. I bought mine new (last year holdover) for $2000
