I have posted about inquiring which Yanmar would be best for my situation. I now have another question. Is there a Yanmar that is cabable of putting a snowblower on the front? It is my understanding that front PTO's on a Yanmar is really hard to come by. Would a mid mount PTO be compatable with a front mount snowblower? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Thanks.

LMTC,

I don't know? I'm very green when It comes to gray market tractors. I would just like to run a snowblower on the front. I just assumed you could find one with a mid mount PTO. Is this not the case? I have no idea.

KTM,
I have never seen a Yanmar utility tractor with a mid-mount PTO. I can do some research but I beleive there is no one making an attachement to go from the 3pt to drive the forward blower. I did hear that someone has designed a mid-mount mower driven off the 3pt but i have not seen it yet. You could custom make a front snow blade if you are handy. I know a couple places that sell a generic blade then you make your own mounting kit. The eastiest is to buy the 3pt rear blower. I lived in Maryland for almost 30years before moving to VA. I found that a cheap and simple 6 ft straight blade with the right techniques did the job every year with proper weighting. Are you going to use it commercially? If not I would save your money. The Yanmars and most other Japanese tractors have the locking differential in the rear that will pull you out if you start getting stuck. If you have a steep driveway then I would recomend a 4x4 if you have not bought one yet as they have even more gripping power.

Best Regards!
Bob

loaderbob,
Where did you live in Md.? I live in Garrett County on top of a mountain. I would'nt mind a rear mount but my driveway is 2.5 miles ( yep 2.5 ) up over the mountain to my farm. I'm not using it commercially just to mow and blow snow. I haven't bought the tractor yet.
I have been using my backhoe for the past 3 years. I just really need the blower to blow the snow off the shoulders of mt road so I will have somewhere to put the next batch of snow.
I really like what I have heard about the Yanmars but I am totally lost when it comes to compact tractors. i don't want to spend a fortune either. Any advice on which tractor I need ? 4wd is a must. Good ground clearance also.Any good dealers in our area that you know of ? I am having trouble finding any in our area. ( within 200 miles or so. ) Thanks a million

KTM,

I used to live in Calvert County(Southern MD) and Anne Arundel. I moved to VA about 2 years ago. I service the East Coast with Yanmar, Mitsubishi, Iseki, and those orange tractors. Give me a call and I can help you out, or at least let you know more about what to look for and the pros and cons of the different models.
