Well I've had my tractor for a few months now and just hit 55 hours on Sunday. My 3525 has come in very handy. Here is a list of some of the things I've done with it:

Bush hogged 20 acres
trenched for culverts, power line, and drainage ditches
resurfaced gravel driveway
spread top soil
removed several small Mesquite trees
cleared area of brush and tree limbs
drilled about 20 post holes
removed old posts from ground
Moved several hay bales

So far she hasn't let me down.

Etch,

I'm catching up to ya!

I just turned over 42 hours on mine day before yesterday... absolutely no problems so far, just the "water in the oil sump" anomaly. I hope I don't see that again.

The more I use this tractor, the more I wonder how I ever got along with that old 8N for the past 7 years!

I hooked up my logging winch to the 3525 the other day and pulled a big hickory log that had blown over off a hillside back in the woods that would have otherwise been inaccessable. The 3525 handles the winch much better than the 8N! But, I knew it would ;).

The 2 things that I would most like to get now are a 6ft rear tiller and a posthole digger... and, I need to build a brush guard for the front grille... I've poked out the grille screen 3 times now doing loader work ... more of an annoyance than anything, it isn't too hard to put back in, fortunately.

I haven't had any major problems either. The only problem I have had besides flat tires is the cross-threaded hydraulic connection for the FEL which was fixed by the dealer. Tractor has been running great. I will be doing my 50 hour service this weekend, ok 55 hour service.

The post hole digger is a must have. I can't believe how fast that thing drills into the ground. I got a lot of rocks where I live too, but it doesn't slow down the auger hardly at all.

Completed my 50 hour service over the weekend. Used Rotella 15W40 and a Motorcraft FL1A filter. I'm a Ford guy so I have plenty of FL1As sitting in my garage. I also cleaned the oil cup and pre cleaner out, greased all the fittings, checked fluid levels and made sure all the bolts and nuts were tight.

I think the hardest part was getting the oil cup out to clean. The FEL doesn't make it easy, but it's done and there was very little debris in the cup, which is good.

Etch,

Did you check the paper air filter also?

I might just take the FEL off for the first time just in time to coincide with the 50hr service... ;)

Have you had your FEL off yet? If yes, how hard was it to get back on?

Yes I inspected the entire air cleaner assembly. There was surprisingly little debris anywhere.

I haven't removed the FEL yet. Just eveything I do requires the use of the FEL, so I just leave it on. Although I were to take it in for service, I'd probably remove it just to lower the weight my trailer has to support.

Etch, I have a silly question. Is my Mahindra manual wrong? Look at the attachment of my manual. Under ENGINE, it states to change oil at 250 hours. Under TRANSMISSION, it states to change oil at 50 hours. I always thought the engine oil had to be changed at 50 hours and noticed that you changed your oil at 50.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Mud

Mud,

Your manual is different than mine... Mine says transmission oil change isn't due until 1000 hours.

I wonder if you have an older manual... mine says Jan 07 on the front inside cover, how about yours?

Mud... I see the problem... I forgot that you have a 4530, totally different tractor.

I'd change it at 50, and then again whenever you get to whatever interval that you're going to use. On the 3525, Mahindra shows a 200 hour change interval. I think I'm going to go with 100 hours, since that's about what I normally put on my tractor each year.

Mud,
That is just a guide line. I'm with Brian, I change mine once a year. I just did the 50 hour service on my machine. I did everything. Engine oil, trans oil, oil and fuel filters. :D The only filter I did not replace was the Hyd filter. Dealer and Mahindra said not necessary.
