I'll second using Armslist. I have purchased one gun on there and know lots of people who use it. If you use Facebook, there a lot of gun selling groups and probably some designated to the area you live.
Vermont has no laws for the most part so selling today in state is only an issue of finding a place to advertise it. The good old ways don't really exist now. I did sign up with gunbroker so I'll probably try that. But with each state having their own set of laws I figured I would have to contact the buyer's ffl to verify that it was OK to sell the gun legally to someone living in that state. I just was wondering if there was another way that people use.

I belong to two. They have restricted memberships.Facebook put the squelch on selling firearms on most of the sites. In fact, some of the anti-rights groups are putting fake ads on pro-gun Facebook sites (ones that don't sells guns), then reporting the fake ad, in order to get the pro-rights group banned.
+1 That's usually who I sell or buy from. Sometimes a gun will go thru several of us before going back to the "outside". When it does, consignment at local shop usually works well. Over about $ 1500 - then gunbroker is a good option to move it quickly.I don't usually sell, but when I do sell ,or buy I always tell a couple of friends that tells a couple of friends, ,And we'll it doesn't take long to get the word around of what I'm selling or looking for.. I have sold a few this way bought many this way
