I have two sections like the one pictured. I use it in the garden and food plots after plowing, as secondary tillage. I pull mine with my garden tractors, the neighbor pulls his with horses.
The big difference between a spring tooth harrow and a disc is the the spring tooth harrow brings the clods and rocks to the surface, and a disc buries them. That was a problem for me last year in some new clay I broke, the clods were really bad. In the old section of garden, the spring tooth harrow gave a nice seed bed.
I also used it to cover wheat, oats, and clover. I made a loose seed bed with the plow and spring tooth harrow, then broadcast my seed. I set the spring teeth to just barely scratch the soil.
