Last spring I was looking to buy a tractor. I spent several months looking for used ones and didn't find enough discount to buy one versus new. For the record I wound up with a B2920 and some stuff, but while looking at used ones there was a guy trying to sell a B2630/LA403/MMM (106 hrs.). It would have been ideal, but he wanted the "new" price and urged folks they would save sales tax, his price was firm. Not enough for me so i moved on. Over the summer I kept seeing this same tractor show up on CL, and now he has it listed for about $7k less than new, a price I would surely have paid...besides in the meantime he's made another 6-8 payments. The price is so good now I'm considering buying it (the tempting part) but I have absolutely no use for 2 tractors so close in capabilities. There must be a moral to this story although it escapes me at the moment. But it's good to know my luck holds: the only good used deals show up after I've bought whatever it is I'm after! C'est la vie....

Ever since someone told me I couldn't take it with me, I quit spending too much time worrying about money and focus more on quality of life. I really like the features on the B2630/3030 especially the position control; I'd buy it. There's nothing wrong with the Bxx20 Series; just prefer the Bxx30.

Turns, turns, turns. There's a time to sell and a time to buy. Parts of a song. When someone prices something to high it's not the time to buy. Later when they realize their price is not to high to keep it but to high to sell it then is the time to buy. Happens every day.
I like yard and moving sells that are done at the home. The seller usually wants it gone and prices it to move, sometimes. If they price it to high, come back later in the day when the fun is gone and the sun is really hot the stuff will still be there, offer a lower price and watch how often they take it.

Happens all the time. Just when you finally pull the trigger on something, you run across a better deal.

Its funny that you mention c-list and asking new price though.

I have seen the same post re-listed on c-list for a 2006 L3400 with FEL just put on this summer and 236hrs for sale for $17,500 It has just been lowered to $17,000. Seems high to me. I bought mine in 2006 and only paid 17k OTD for a BRAND NEW tractor/loader with a WARRENTY. IMO this tractor should be priced in the ~13-14k range to even tempt me from not buying new w/warrenty and great financing.

And the kicker is that the town it is in there is also a kubota dealer. The same dealer I bought my tractor from and the only one for ~ 30-40 miles.

Naturally it happens. But everytime I come home and see my little BX I just smile and think someday my kids will be driving this tractor.

After that I dont think about the couple hundred I could have possibly saved buying lightly used.

The way it's suppose to go is, you buy your first tractor out of need. Then you buy a second and find a need to justify it. That of course leads to buying a third. It's a slippery slope and now that you're on it you can't stop at one. :laughing:

i know i bought the MX5100 HST 4x4 with FEL because we stuck the big tractor 4 or 5 times last winter.the MX 5100 is getting used to hay the cows this winter,an the cab tractor is parked for awhile.
