I have a TC25D, which has the extendable lower links, and PEC is one of the best accessories I've bought. Makes hooking up attachments a breeze. IMO, there's a world of difference between sliding the lower arms on a pin and simply lifting them up to attach. I high recommend PEC.

Mike, did you have to do any modification for the PEC to fit your adjustable lower links? If not, I'd say it's a winner. Of course, you still have to get off the tractor to hook up the toplink.

Mike since we're asking questions I have one as well. Do you use the same procedure as usual for hooking up an implement using PEC on uneven rolling ground?

Nope, no modification to the lower links needed. You also have to get off the tractor to install the safety pins (not sure what the correct name is) and the PTO (if needed).

Yep.

PEC results in substantially less re-positioning of the tractor, raising/lowering 3ph, sliding the lower arms in/out to get the pins on the 3ph attachment to line up with the holes on the lower arms. As long as;

1. I back straight up to the attachment
2. The lower arms are underneath the attachment pins.

All I do is raise the 3ph, the PECs lock into place, I get off the tractor, hook up the pto, hook up the toplink, slide in the safety pins and I am done.

I have PEC, I swear by it. On uneven ground, get both arms under the implement and start raising up the 3ph. The lower side latches first and raises whatever you're hooking to and when level, the other side latches. The spreader bar is useless for me, when I used it and hooked up the finish mower it bent into a U shape, I bent it back and it is functional again but not sturdy.

I agree. Anyone who has a deluxe model Boomer does not need the spreader bar. In fact, even those who don't have a deluxe model would probably find it of marginal value.

I agree with MikePA...there is a world of difference. I switch over frequently and there is no comparison in ease. I bought extra washers and lynch pins and keep them on each implement so I don't even have to do that. I also marked the stabilizer bar for the system so that I know where to set the width for each implement to get the right spacing. When I back up to hook up, it's ready to lift. I was worried about how "well" they retained the implement lift pins with that latch system but I tested it and tried to "bounce" the pins out it never happened. Now I can't imagine trying to slide/line up the drag link holes to the lift pins anymore. Definitely a great invention. IMO, it's one of those purchases that make you feel "good" that you bought it....everytime you use it.

Duh! I was so used to having to insert the lynch pins after sliding the lower arms on, it never occurred to me to just leave them on the implement. Thanks!

Also, how do the washers come into play when hooking to an implement?

I now curious as all get out. I'm wondering just how many of you out there in TBN land with retractable lower arms use the PEC system?

Mike,
The washers that Pat supplies have one edge bent down with a hole in it. Picture looking at the washer from the side so it looks flat Then make a 90° bend just above the big hole in the washer (that goes over the lift pin). That bent "flange" now also has a hole in it so you can put a lynch pin through it and into the lift pin hole. The lynch pin keeps the washer towards the end of the lift pin, allowing room for the "lift hooks" of Pat's system to fit. The washer then keeps his hooks from sliding off the end of the lift pins...same principal as using the lynch pins after sliding the "eye" holes "over" the lift pins on the implement....except the washers are retained there in that position.
Make sense....or did I confuse you?

Mike,
I don't have them but nevertheless, with PEC you eliminate that step completely...the part about sliding the draglink eyelet over the implement lift pin....completely. Also the part of inserting the lynch pin into the lift pin after you get the drag link (lower lift arm) on the implement...if you have spares. So basically if the width is set with PEC, you backup to the implement and lift up the 3pt until the hooks catch. The ONLY thing I do after that is pin my top link...done.
(That is if there are no hydraulics to hook up or PTO shaft)
