Socks, I need new socks. Where do you buy good socks?

Last I bought we're Athletic Works brand. Made in USA. 10 pack at Walmart.

Most socks brands come in two sizes, 6-12 and 12-16.

I wear a 12 or 12-1/2 shoe. So either the socks are so tight the heel is in the arch and my toes are trying to bust thru the end. Or the heel is up by my ankle and there is an inch wadded up in the toe of my shoe.

Then I found diabetic socks. Size is 10-13. Fits my feet perfectly. They sell them at a local flea market and I buy them all the time. Wear them out. And throw them away. They come in black, brown, gray, and white. Ankle socks or full length.

Brand name is CSM and they say made in USA. The tag may be all that's made in the USA but I don't care. They are comfortable.

Another vote for J.C. Penney gold toe. I've used nothing else for decades. Last forever. Get a bunch of black pairs now you never have to look for matching socks again.

Same, except I buy them on Amazon. I just keep a bin of them on a shelf in the closet. Dressy enough for all but the most formal occasions. Comfortable enough for almost everything.

Another vote for Darn Tough. I've got them on now. I won't buy anything else. Wool just makes a better sock. They're not cheap, but they're worth it.

They make many kinds. I like the couple pair I have gotten as gifts. Had them a long time. Not sure which style... will have to look.

I think it is the Trailhead model, mostly merino wool. Honestly, I think people kill their socks because of their washing habits. 1. turn them inside out (not to wear but to wash). 2. use little soap and no bleach. 3. don't cook them when drying. Hang them to air dry (goes for most clothes) but if using a dryer don't use softeners. Don't need to add chemicals to natural fibers.

I wear "Holeproof" socks.

However the key thing that I look for are ones with copper micro thread in the toe/heel area... it destroys microbes that make your feet stink!

If you want proof, surgical clothing is infused with copper threads due to 'death to microbes' on contact. I've also heard that the US Marine's issue boxer shorts are the same quality copper material... due to multi days 'in the field' = no crotch-rot! :yuck:

I also believe that the Romans discovered this 'quality'.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes....
Best socks and Warranty is exactly what he says. Problem, hole, wear spot? It gets replaced.
I backpack. Sometimes 20 miles in a day with a full pack. And these socks are all I use.
