Sod or Seed?

From what I read and have been told about Zoiysa grass is that it turns dormant way early in the fall. I've also read so many positive things about it that I became nervous. Kind of like all the hype you get on a new movie. There is a point that you realize the commercials are pushing it way too hard and there's something wrong with it. I think Zoisya is the same thing. Lots of hype and wondrfull claims, but nobody has it. I've never seen a Zoiysa lawn anyplace. People here in the south all have bermuda, st. augustine and centipede. Some places have bahia, but that's a terrible grass for a home lawn.

When 99 percent of everyone is usuing the same thing, it's kind of tough for me to believe that they are all wrong.

I used bermuda sod.Bermuda cost less than the others. Never liked seed. With sod you have grass . With seed , you are taking a chance & hope that 50% will come up.cause the other 50% will b washed away with the rain.

if you go to the IAHP site you can find where the closest hydroseeding professional is. just search IAHP. in Alabama i would say you can still spray, particularly southern Ala. i think it is the way to go.

I am very interesting in doing this hydroseeding just wondering from some more people that have done it what it is like and even maybe some pics of there lawn. I am in the process of finding out some prices in my area. I don't want to do sod cause it is so expensive but I would love to have grass a soon as I can so thinking hydroseed is the answer maybe.

My buddy is getting hydro seeding on his lake lot next week so I will see how it looks and turns out for grow time. I am very interested to see how long it takes and how it looks!! He is doing 3600sqft for $800 this is Canadian funds also. That is 800 all said and done with the company having to drive 45mins there and back as they are 45mins away from where his lake lot is. That doesn't seem to bad of a price at all
