Me too. I had it generate an Engineering Properties report and it listed the profiles ... my main type is ToC which shows loam on top and clay under (attached)

One soil type is probably dominate in your area, but some examples of the others might be found, especially if you have acreage. My 5 acres is a small area withing a larger zone of Auburn AxD.

Some things can vary by slope, more soil tendency toward the top of a hill versus a ravine or valley ect.

And, thier surveys are not good down to feet, maybe yards or more.

This is a bit weird because the soil engineer who did the perk tests, etc. for our sewer systems 60 miles south of Dallas told me I had "Wilson clay loam". What I had was that black dirt that sticks to your shoes in thick layers when it's wet, dries hard as concrete in the Summer with cracks in the yard I could have actually dropped a golf club into and lost it. The soil here at my current place is nothing at all like that, pretty sandy in fact, and yet that website says I have "Wilson clay loam". I've seen no sign of clay around here at all. Someone is mistaken, and of course, I'm not sure who that someone is. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Bird, I used to lease a place that had that black clay dirt, here in Harris County. It was a 70 acre reservour. Man, if it even thought about raining I'd hop in my truck and head closer toward the gate. Thay dirt was slicker than snot when wet and when you walked in it wet you'd be carring 20lbs of mud on each foot.

( black clay dirt ) == Gumbo .... when we had our house built in The Colony, we had to put sprinkler hose upside-down around the slab to keep it from cracking during the summer.
