Tractor
2017 Kubota L6060 HSTC
I finally sold my Mahindra 2015 HST (for less than I wanted) but I wanted to get a bigger tractor.
The little 2015 HST has been a great tractor, I put 300 hours on it in almost 2 years, I had no mechanical problems whatsoever, I had to replace the seat as the factory rusted and broke but the tractor was bulletproof.
I am now defecting to the other side, I have a new Kubota Grand L3240 coming next week, I looked long and hard at another Mahindra and would recommend the brand to anyone but the resale value was not there, the 2 local Mahindra dealers did not even want to trade and I had it advertised for a long while before it finally sold, I know I may have made the wrong decision and should have purchased a larger tractor the first time but at the time the 2015 was what I wanted and I have no regrets, I got my moneys worth out of it.

I’m looking forward to the arrival of my new tractor and I’ll keep reading these forums (Mahindra, Kubota, and Others) there’s a wealth of information here.

I think you hit the nail on the head with resale. I just sold my Kubota and the phone rang off the wall.
I don't know if soem of the "off brands" will ever gain the same branding as NH, JD, and Kubota.

In the 1970s when kubota first started here in the states they said the same thing about them (off brands will never make it big here)

I read in a magazine that in a year or two mahindra sales will surpass John Deere world wide

time will tell :D

Correct. If you are buying for a quick turnaround and high % resale value... swallow hard, dig deep and go for ORANGE! I didn't used to think that so much (given how costly they are initially) until I had occasion to visit a couple MA Kubota dealerships while shopping for 3-pt hitch implements... and saw the asking prices on some of their used orange stuff. Must admit... it dang near blew my socks off. Them little orange things must be made of GOLD or something! :D

I looked hard at the 2015 with FEL before buying a new Kubota B7510HST with the LA302 FEL in May 05. There was only a few hundred bucks difference in price, but I was concerned about resale and/or trade-in value.

This is the tractor I compared the Mahindra 2015 to when I bought mine in June 2005, the Mahindra was the "hands down" winner because of the details that Ernie mentioned.

Ditto, I did a lot of research before I bought the 2015 HST. I think I made the right decision. I have a neighbor with a similarly sized JD and he says he can't even really dig with his. After seeing mine in action he is a bit jealous I think. I had to get accustomed to the limitations of HST on a tractor this size because I have been running CASE skidsteers and other industrial grade equipment. But this little 2015 with the ML104 loader is a beast for the money.

Also, I was less concerned with resale value because I can see needing a tractor this size for a long time on my property. And I have the most excellent Kubota dealer close by, too. After looking at the tractors in detail, I realized I would have to go up the line to the B7800 or B2630 before I got to the capacities and weights (very important) of the 2015 HST.

I plan on keeping my Yanmar for as long as I can because when I get off this turnaround here at work, it will almost be paid for. But when/if I buy a new tractor, it will be another Mahindra. Hands down.

..wallow hard, dig deep and go for ORANGE!

That's funny when I recently looked at Mahindra, at a dealer the price was almost exactly the same price as a Kubota, and when I told the sales guy that he seemed surprised, than quicly said " oh well that's the starting price"

...In the 1970s when kubota first started here in the states

Yes, and it's the same thing they said about Daihatsu ,Volkswagen Thing ,Fiero, HUGO, Edsel, Vega, Pinto, Saturn Vue...... just give them some time and it will catch on.
