My wife and I went to my Kubota dealer early Saturday morning to really look these machines over. My wife sat in the Jeep reading a book while I played on the 3830 and 4330 for about an hour. By the end of that hour, I felt like I was getting the hang of operating the front end loaders on these machines. I have never used a FEL before, but it wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be.
I decided on an L3830 GST with the LA723 loader. I just feel the 3830 is perfect for my needs. I also picked up an SQ720 bush hog and an MBX720 box blade. Total out the door price is $20,892.
I was already in Kubota's system, so all I had to do was give some updated information and I was approved for the 0%. My dealer called me this morning to say they were prepping the machine and for me to call him to schedule a delivery time for this week.
I'll post pictures as soon as it is delivered.

In 2 years now I have about 500 hours on my L3830 HST. It has been wonderful. I have found that while the loader is definitely smaller then the L48 TLB I had, it is much quicker and I find it is quite easy to work around the lower lift and curl abilities, something I was unsure about. I can load a dumpster with it but must definitely retract or curl the bucket from the dump position after dumping the load inside of it. The lower loader height is about the biggest difference. Don't be afraid to remove the loader when mowing, its a snap to do. It greatly aids in your ability to see as well as eliminate bounce. I rarely mow in 4WD. Get your engine oil filter now, you will be changing very soon. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It may be too late, but consider the following:

The L4330 is 4-cyl (eats fuel faster) but look at engine torque/$$ for the whole Grand-L lineup (see Torque graph
for graph of $$ vs. engine torque...the $$ labels are not correct but you'll get the idea) .

Also the LA853 loader not only lifts more weight, lifts it higher, but the loader itself is much more substantial than the LA723...1/4 in. plate vs. 3/16th, larger diameter rams on cylinders, etc.

The added HP of the L4330 over the L3830 would give you enough extra power to consider the HST option....that HST trans just might be enough to get your wife out of the car and onto the tractor...that may not actually be a good thing come to think of it. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I sold my L3130HST after one year and ordered the L4330HST I passed up a year ago... From now on my motto is 'ALWAYS buy the bigger tractor'.

Enjoy whatever you end up getting.

Funny thing is Pat, I know you can keep going larger. I had a industrial Massey, then a Kubota L48 and now a L3830. I definitley find there is a trade off any which way you go. I found the biggest advantage the L4330 had was not so much in the loaders lift ability but simply its height. I don't run out of torque for the most part so that is not an issue. I know it depends on your needs and while the desire to keep going larger seems inherent in most of us, I can attest that it does have a down side. The money I saved going with a L3830 HST instead of the L4330 got me the complete TnT system which in my opinion is worth every bit or more of the trade off in the two tractors. If I had not got the L3830, the L4330 would have been next. I would have been happy with either.

I just talked to my dealer. Delivery is scheduled for this Thursday at 4pm /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. It has been a hectic week at work already, so there is no hope of me taking a day (or even half a day) off for the special occasion /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. I can't wait to use that FEL /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

My new tractor was delivered on schedule yesterday /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. I had a great time playing on it, but unfortunately my wife wasn't home to snap any pictures of me enjoying it.
They sure used a huge truck and trailer to deliver it.

First line of modification for me and my L3830 was to cut the level rod on the bucket down. It begs to get bent/destroyed as it comes from the factory. Don't worry, even the manual indicates you can do this.
