Up Date... I know many on here have said they are running without carb solenoid on Keihin carb.... but engine ran like crap without it , and would
run on like a diesel on shut down.
Just installed new Kohler solenoid , and engine starts , and shuts down like
a dream.
So in my experience you really do need a solenoid that is working properly.
When they get old they CAN work intermittently , and this is what made it hard to diagnose for me.... but all is well now.
