You're not informing to be helpful gator/photoboy. You're just condescending. You might be more helpful in a forum dedicated to digital photography or website design and management than tractors. Perhaps the site manager here would start a such a forum within Tractorbynet and you could be the moderator. Just imagine how helpful you could be then. Sharing your vast knowledge of digital photography and the proper way to link it within a web page...how thrilling. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Gatorboy, what exactly IS the rule here on the forums for posting photos if there is one? Just links? If that were the case, than why is the image option given? Are only a specific number of images allowed to be put directly on forum posts? If so, how many? Can one post pictures with dates in them, or are no dates allowed? I'm only asking because I see the exact same thing IHCUB did be done in other threads, with no nagging or pointing out the errors in poster's ways on those posts. Matter of fact the "Sleeve hitch for 2554," recent thread here in the CC forum has multiple (un-linked) images in it. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The two best methods on this forum is to post via an attachment or to post a link or links to images located elsewhere on the web.

Just links? If that were the case, than why is the image option given?
Typically to allow a small image (such as an avatar in your signature) to be inserted.

Are only a specific number of images allowed to be put directly on forum posts? If so, how many?
If you post one image inline that is less than about 640 pixels in width and under 150K or so in filesize, nothing is said or done, but more than one you are subject to having the moderators edit your post by converting them to links. The reason is that many of the users on this forum are located in rural areas and only have access to dialup connections. So when a dialup user visits a thread with a number of inline images they are forced to sit and wait for them to download to their PC.

Of course dates can be posted on pictures. Has someone said they are not allowed? I just pointed out that an option is most likely available on their camera to eliminate that date from being pasted onto their images. Because all the date/time information is stored in the header of the image file, the date on the image is not really necessary.

The moderators do not read EVERY post in every thread, so this is why the "Notify Moderator" link/button is at the bottom of each post so the members can inform them. Sometimes a few posts slip through if no one catches it.
