That would do a better job than the rotozip for sure. I used my Rotozip to cut out the center of a feeding stand I made for my dog's bowl. And like the earlier poster, I ended up with a small flat spot. Fortunatly the rim of the bowl covers it. Could have used the router, but wanted to try the Rotozip.
The circle guide I have is made of clear lexon and replaces the router's sub base. It has a slot in the middle of the arm and the pivot point locks in place. I think it goes up to about a 16" radius. There are longer ones available.
