Something I can drag to smooth property...?

Best and cheapest one I ever found was a discarded set of bed springs in a ditch. Got them in the truck, got them home, added a V chain to pull them with and they make a dandy levelling drag for free. If you need more weight, toss on some cinder blocks, the will set right down in the springs.

Love seeing economical and effective solutions. I am leaning toward something that can be attached to the 3PH so it can be lifted for tight spaces or where I do not want to drag. Thinking about utilizing one of those inexpensive TSC carry all frames and adding to it.

BTW, at the hunt camp, one of guys used a 20’ pine tree to do some rough leveling on a sandy road.

I made a cheap and easy land leveler that works very well...4 railroad ties fastened together that I drag with the tractor:

This is what the ground looks like after a few passes:

That does a very good job. Probably one the easiest to make I have seen.

Just for interest short chains could be used to hook the ties together. That would allow the Ties to be at different angles. A sheet of plywood on top to hold weight if needed.

We made a 'drag' using 3 RR ties but 4 longevity we bolted 1/4 X 3 flat steel as cutting edges.
Also varied the angles of the ties so that material could travel from side to side to fill the dips all while slicing the tops of the humps.
Worked great for some 10 years 'til city took over our road.

LOL, they used a grader but it did not do a better job than out DIY rig.

I've used a pallet, flipped upside down, with some cinder blocks on it, pulled with a length of 3/8 chain.

I envy you guys (and/or gals) that can just drag stuff around to level your land. My property is all clay, I've been wanting to build a land plane with a good cutting edge on it to help cut off high spots and fill low spots with the addition of extra trucked-in soil. Right now, with the VERY little rain we've had this season, my land is like concrete.

Sand isn't all that fun either. You can drag all day and have a new sandy beach look but as soon as a squirrel runs across it, it's all bumpy again. :p

Wow. LOTS of great replies. Thank you.
I just happen to have a large chain-link gate laying around - I will give it a try.

You just need smaller squirrels! ;)

I would remove one side of the frame for the chain link gate. Or a pipe trailing and leading but the chain links floating. Some heavy straight edge with the chain link following would be great.
