Something New Under The Sun?

While the concept does actually work, why would you want to put wear and tear on the soil conditioner while just using the bucket? If all you do is a specific job like reconditioning roadways and spreading gravel, it might be just the tool for you. If you do a lot of digging and loading with your bucket, the conditioner will probably get in the way. For me, the price of the single unit would have to be less than a stand-alone bucket and conditioner before I'd consider it. It definitely fits a niche market and is a very interesting tool. Thanks for the links.:)

Neat idea, and I agree with Jim. First thing I thought of is wow...I need that thing! But, one attachment performing the task of two is a compromise of both. I'd worry about the placement of the hyd lines more than anything, especially while brushing (which I'm sure it wasn't designed for.) Speaking of which...a hyd brush shredder on a SS or CTL brushes about 3-4 times faster (at least), and does a much better job too. Not saying I wouldn't want to demo one on gravel driveways for a few days though...cuz I would.

I can see it as having some of the capabilities of a conventional Harley rake but without the angling capability. Looks like the capability of putting weight in the bucket when using the rotating drum might be some advantage if penetration in tough conditions was an issue. I wouldn't think it would replace the regular SS bucket but more as a "specific job" tool as Jim mentions above. I noticed that one of the videos shows it being used as a stump remover. The "bullet" type teeth with carbide inserts probably wouldn't cut nearly as efficiently as a conventional stump remover but it seemed to do the job.
It appears that the bucket is being used as a stabilizing/depth control/smoothing device when grinding gravel roadbed. That would seem to have some advantage over a "conventional" Harley rake.
At any rate, I give the inventor credit for thinking outside the box and wish him the best.
Also, I wonder what you guys would think of using this tool for an occasional pavement grinder. I assume that tooth wear would be an issue and perhaps the bearings would be also.
