That one has an alternator on it so it probably has been converted to positive ground and twelve volt. The only changes are an additional ballast resister, twelve volt coil and removal of the voltage regulator. Can't tell if there is an exciter wire on the alternator or if you just rev the engine to get it to charge.
The cracked block is the biggest concern. The hydraulic fluid might just be contaminated with water.
Is there any antifreeze in the oil? Was the cooling system filled with water and no antifreeze? If it has antifreeze in it now, and it is not leaking, then perhaps the block cracked years ago and it has held together OK as is.
I was given my great grandfather's tractor about 10 years ago (a 1943 Case SC tricycle type - about 25 hp). I used it as my only tractor up until 5--6 years ago. It is neat to have/use a piece of my family's history- now it sits in the barn but I start it/drive it every few years.
