Don, now you and Chris know why I had goats and rabbits instead of cows and horses. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif I told my wife I didn't want anything I couldn't manhandle single handedly.

I got an 'emergency' appt with my primary dr today at 1:45... 3 emergiencies.. apparently worse than me came in.. so I wasn't seen till 4:15.. 45 minutes before i had to go to work.. so no xray. They did move my arm.. nothing poked out thru the skin.. doesn't make any grinding noises when it turns.. no jabbing pain.. and I breathe fine.. they think only soft tissue damage.. but will eventually need an xray to see the rotator cuff.. I'm going back next thursday, ( they sugested i could go to the emergency room.... but I declined.. ).

I've still been doing the ice on and off, and taking some over the counter stuff.. naprox sodium / ibuprofen .. put a little ben gay on it this am as it was stiff.

If it starts getting better, and not worse this weekend, I'l wait till thursday for the xray. if I see anything startling develop.. or if something starts hurting differently.. I guess I'll have to tough out the e-room /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I got that cow'swipe' one time.. cut thru my overals and made a impressive looking though non-painfull small cut... been lucky after that.... as my cows have horns....

WOW! That doesn't sound like ANY fun at all. Hope you get to feeling better quick-like. I was wondering where you were.... since there were no other post's from you yesterday.

I got too close to the south end of a north-bound horse when I was about 12. It nailed me in the right hip. Spent the next 2 weeks in the hospital, and 36 years later still have a sore hip and a bad attitude towards horses.

I remember maybe 4 or 5 years ago at our county fair a guy got kicked by a cow in the leg. He later died (2 or 3 days I believe) because of a blood clot that formed. Sure did bring down the mood of the fair that year. Don't mean to scare you, but just don't wanna lose ya either.

Thanks.. and yes.. I do have an appt next thursday for the xray for the rotator cuff. Also, the cr told me to take aspirin instead of ibuprofen. i guess this was maybee to help with possible bloodclots?

Well.. it was stiff this am.. but does limber up a bit during the day... temder in a few areas.. probably only 25% easy range of motion.. though can be slowly 'forced' to do 90% motion range.... real slowly...

That sure does make for a lousy day! Be real careful in what you do as you don't want to do any more damage. Soft tissue damage can be very painful and rotator cuff problems are no fun either. I hope that you get better real soon and heal up as good as new. Take it easy.

I had rotator cuff surgery two years ago. They fixed the rotator cuff, scarped off the arthritis and removed bone spurs. Took about six to eight months before I had the full use of my arm again.

Sure was interesting trying to learn to use my left hand for everything! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hope you don't need surgery.

i can relate to that, a fews years ago i had a minor operation on my right hand, they had it bangaged it up so i could not use it much, darn hard to buckle you pants with one hand /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I have two torn rotator cuffs and have learned to live with them. I figure that I might not live long enough for them to heal, so I prefer to have my remaining days with minimal pain vs. lots of pain... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
