Sorry about the kioti intrusion. i don't see anything possitive from Ob1's actions. we don't get kubota dealers coming in our group talking down kioti and don't think any dealer should try selling tractors on this bb. this bb is about support, advice, stories and friendship not out right tractor bashing. again sorry for the intrusion. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

JB, honestly I think Kitoi tractors show great promise and are nice looking units. I do not think their small stuff is competitive yet with Kubota and JD but their larger gear tractors sure are! If I was looking in that market I would sure give them a close look and that their prices are so competitve all the better. I hope they become very succesful and/or find a niche to take good advantage off. Kioti is certainly a good tractor with a developing good reputation. Hail Kioti (just wish they would go with something other than orange---- /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif )

Ok,... for education sake, what is a Kioti?
Never heard of them, except from the number 1 tampon boy /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif!
Are they Japanese or Chinese or Korean or...?
New to the market in U.S.A. or new to the world?
I yearn for knowledge /w3tcompact/icons/clever.gif.

Bush keeps saber rattlin and a couple of those DMZ troops get too trigger happy and part might get real hard to get.

Nuru -
Maybe this was just an offhand comment on your part, but it sounds like a bit of "fear mongering" to me.

After all, just about everybody has plants distributed worldwide for parts. Doesn't matter if it is Kioti, John Deere, Ford, Chevy, or whoever - it is just the way things are done today. Yea, some countries *may* become unstable, but if S. Korea "goes down", it isn't just Kioti that will have problems...

Look, this thread was started by a Kioti fellow who was trying to apologize for someone else "starting something" with the Kubota folks. My reply in this thread was simply to give some information to someone who was curious.

Please don't turn this into another confrontational thread - seems there has been enough of that here in the Kubota folk's house as it is.

I guess I don't understand why you feel responsible for the attitude of someone else. Just because you own a Kioti doesn't make you responsible for the attitude of another owner any more than going to McDonalds makes you a hamburger.

I have found that most everybody that posts on TBN does so with a great deal of respect for other individuals reguardless of what kind of tractor they own, or don't own as the case may be. Everyone is entitled to their own view and for the most part respect is given to others of differing opinions.

Owners like yourself who share stories about Kioti's, the things they have done with them, the experiences they have with them will teach us all just what these machines are made of. All tractors are mechanical things and are prone to have problems sooner than later, I've had them with my Kubota.

I have not seen it yet and I hope I never do see where the type of tractor you own makes a difference in the respect given to anyone. I was taught years ago, but not enough years ago to becareful, what you plant you are going to harvest. Even if you don't want the crop, you sow it, you reap it.

No apology necessary. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I own JD and Kubota. I Love them both.
With two sources that competitively matched, Kioti has to be sharp as a razor in Quality, I.D., engineering, and logistics just to enter, let alone dominate, the marketplace.
I love S. Korea! They have wonderful food and very nice people. They also have emerging industries that could be stellar (electronics for one…)
Kioti may be there in the future but for now they are still in the development phase as far as I am concerned.
