Maybe the Michigan snow is the same place as the birds that are missing in MI in another thread!

Nope, bought it up in Rudyard [ U.P. ]..............I can relate with the 'piled real deep' comment. Sometimes things get 'piled real deep' on this forum........ :) :) :)

Here is a picture of what a normal December looks like....

Piled real deep:confused:.... Is there any other way?

Was it a private party sale? Or is there is a dealer still in business in Rudyard?

That picture looks awful familiar. It's like deja vu all over again........

Rudyard has a Mahindra dealer, Gaylor Trucking [ Gaylord without the 'D' ], just west off I-75. Good people.... I am about half way between them and the dealer in West Branch.

..better snow quick... I am getting too much barn time... :(

Those critters look easy to care for:thumbsup: Nice work.

Glad to hear there is a dealer in Rudyard. I hope they are doing well. That used to be a thriving cattle and hay area when I was younger. I remember seeing a giant cow statue not too far off the freeway. We tried to find it a couple years ago for the kids when we were tooling around on vacation and couldn't. Stopped and asked a gas station clerk about it and she told us that the farm went belly up and the giant cow was sold and trucked off. The prison seemed to be the only thing thriving in that area.

WWWWEEEEELLLLL,

Don't know if this helps the weather situation or not but, I removed the mower and installed the 44 inch two stage snowcaster on the JDLA115 and reinstalled the weight tray and the 2 suitcase weights yesterday(holding off on the chains as the ground is really bad and as it is raining and the boiler has good draft to burn coal I can live with not burning a lot of kerosene as winter does not arrive until the 21st of December......................................................

I do know that I will be lowering the skids a bit on the 44 inch snow caster though as the asphault driveway is buckling more severely as it was layed on broken concrete by the previous owner which was not a smart thing to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will probably start snowing when I chainge the oil, put on the plow, chains and wheel weights on the 20 year old Wheel Horse 244 hydro.

I vote that we ban mud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its 26 degrees and snowing nicely this morning down here in the palm of the mitten. The roofs and driveway are nice and white. There is not enough to break out the sleds yet. I hope it keeps up for a while.

How are things up in the finger areas?

Cold nights/warm days, last night was our first
measurable snow fall with a quick melt off.

The problem is the lack of a good breeze to maintain
a draft in our natural draft boiler-we can have a fire
going and a bit later the fire dies out without leaving
the ash pit door open at all times.

Our house is so old and leaks so much heat its not
really a trade off anymore so wee keep a small hot hard
fire going at all hours. The wood and coal boiler has 22
gallons of storage in the shell which is not much water
but the boiler being half filled with fire brick adds much
more heat when the fire dies down and keeps the
heat rising in the chimney to maintain a draft.

On the news this morning.. the weather station in Gaylord [ about 12 miles south of me] has recorded only 13.8" of snow this season, 42" less than normal for this time of year. Not that I am complaining, just got to deal with what you get. :)
