Here's the question.
I have a T1030 NH tractor and use it to mow in the summer and clean snow in the winter with a rear blower
The issue in the summer is the 3-point arms drop low with the mowing mid-deck and sometimes dig into areas.
I have removed the arms for the summer previously ..... but it is a royal pain to install them .... requiring removal of the loaded tires to install the pins.
The 3 pt has no down pressure so I am wondering if I might be able to "lash or tie" the arms in the up position for the mowing season. (Possibly unhook the lift links ? )

Opinions ??

You should be able to lock them in the up position, keeping them out of the way.

If you think your 3pt arms are heavy to remove/install, you should see what they’re like on a 300HP tractor. o_O

Play around with the lever lowering the mid mount and stop lowering it when it sits on its guide wheels. Are your 3pt arms any higher?
This is just a guess on my part, but the several inches of lift that's probably all the "travel room" available under your tractor may not need fully lowering the hitch.

I'm not familer with that tractor but I would let them down and if you can lift them by hand then tie them up. What does the operator manual say?

Route a chain between draft link balls & center link attaching bracket on your tractor so chain limits draft arms from lowering or after 3pt arms are in raised position close 3pt rate of drop screw

When a wet glove freezes to the metal in winter. :"

The sad part is if I left my warm hibernation spot by the computer and went out into the freezing temperatures I could have answered my own question.
I simply need to remove the two lift link arms and then I can lash the arms into the up position.
( The drop throttle also controls the mower mid-deck )

Nothing needs to be removed, simply tie them up with a rope as you suggested in your initial post. If something goes awry it will just break the rope.

Nope .... tried that before ..... there are geared lift arms that connect via the lift links to the 3 way draft arms.
Are you saying the drive arms do not have any down pressure so they are not relevant ? ( I know I tried a couple years ago to secure them in the up position and "something" did not work out as I hoped. )

Not if they are hyd. if they are connected mechanically there might be down pressure. Some of the older cheaper brands did not have hydraulics, they had armstrong movement. When one thing moved, everything moved.
