I get some algae in the bottom of the pond. But adding more plants seems to help that.

I had some string algae but it was not a major problem last summer.
My neighbor purchased some kind of Barley liquid at The Pond Place to control the string algae. It seems to have stopped most of their problems. I plan on getting some of the same product next spring when they open up.

The UV light stops all green water problems. When the pond gets a green tint I turn on the light. Within a day the water is crystal clear again. I also leave it on if I do not have time to watch the pond for a week or more. It keeps every thing running with no maintenance.

Yesterday evening I was trying to fit up the lamp. The lower rock is a granite type and the upper one is a sandstone.

To make it fit real tight I have to adjust the lower rock. It took attempting to eliminate a slight bulge to realize I had came to a gun fight and only had a pocket knife.

Tomorrow I will have my Dewalt worm drive with it's diamond blade and some rock wheels for the angle grinders.

Soooooooo, to do this kind of project I now recommend having a drill--hammer comparable to a Hilti TE75 with an assortment of bits and chisels, a seven and quarter inch worm drive with a diamond blade like they use on granite counter tops, And some coarse grinding wheels said counter top installers carry.

Sorry.

But to make an omelet you do have to break an egg or two.........
