The hard lines on my Deere 70 loader have developed external corrosion in several locations. It's only a matter of time before a leak develops. It looks like they are available from the stealership, but the price seems outrageous. And, until one fails for me to dissassemble to figure out fitting sizes, I'm at a loss to sort out the bits and pieces needed to fab my own.

Any one been down this road already that can suggest a more reasonably priced alternative, or the various fitting types/sizes used?

You caught my eye Jerry as I have a 70 loader as well. Do you keep yours outside? Mine stays inside and I'd like to think that should help it last at least my lifetime!

To your question, if it were me I'd pay the bucks for the Deere part. It will bolt right on without any fabrication. My next option would be to remove the entire line and take it to a competent hydraulics shop to have a replica made. That may, or may not be cheaper than the Deere part. Third choice would be to fab it myself, but I basically would not pursue that option due to lack of skills/tools on my part for that kind of work. I'm not sure if Tractor Supply sells the necessary parts or if you'll still end up at the hydraulics shop to get what you need.

Good luck with whatever you do!

Rob-

My loader is about 17 years old and has spent the majority of its life indoors. It has probably spent the equivalent of 3 or 4 summers outside, though. The factory lines look to be plated-maybe zinc- after having the tees and end fittings welded on. There's only a few areas where the protection is gone and rust and pitting are evident. I'd blast and paint to buy time, but there's a whole 180 degrees that could look the same that won't be treated unless I disassemble. And if i do, I might as well replace.

The lines are 3/8" od, and I have benders and an SAE 45 double flaring tool, so I could fab replacements quite easily if I just knew what the terminations on the hoses were.

at the dealership or stealership as you say (i agree some prices are high)a lot of times when we do things like this we just replace the hard lines with hoses they work just as well may need to hold them down in a few places with some zip ties or fab up some brackets if you want to get fancy
